2006-2007 College of Arts and Sciences Advising Council (CASA) - Appointed by former Department Chair, Dr. Karla Leeper, to serve on this one-year committee as a new department on campus was formed, the College of Arts and Sciences Advising (CASA) office - Developed sequence planners for the Speech Communication, Communication Specialist, and Film and Digital Media tracks within the Communication Studies department - Met several times throughout the year with this committee to discuss the progress of the new department, as well as new strategies to facilitate better advising and retention methods 5

Spring, 2007 University Task Force on schedule change: - Appointed by Senior Vice Provost, Naymond Keathley, as one of three faculty members to determine alternative class schedules by examining potential changes in Baylor’s allotted time between classes. - Met on four separate occasions with the Task Force - Advised both the Communication Studies department and the School of Business on potential changes - Solicited responses from the above parties and reported the thoughts back to the Task Force

Spring, 2007 Focus Group on Baylor’s branding initiative: - Asked by Vice President for Marketing and Communications, John Barry, to serve in this focus group regarding Baylor’s various publications (both print and on-line) and Baylor’s multiple audiences

Spring, 2009 Reviewer, National Communication Association Pre-Conference submissions Interviewer for Peer and Peer-Plus Survey - Contacted and interviewed faculty from Saint Louis University and University of Cincinnati in order to gain information about their approach to tenure regarding publications, resource support, etc.

Fall, 2008 Guest Speaker, CSS 1305 Communication Research/Technical Applications class - Lectured on the topic of “What is Organizational Communication?”

February, 2007 Co-Chair Communication Week - Asked by Dr. William English to formulate an agenda for presentations throughout the week - Contacted faculty, graduate students, and alumni to develop panels that would benefit our current students. We had a total of four days of panels and presentations and ten presenters. 6

Fall 1999 - Present Additional Departmental Service: - Advise numerous students each semester, engage in career counseling with current students, and meet with prospective students visiting campus. Also attend and assist with departmental advising day each semester - Serve as Departmental representative every year at Spring Premiere in which I give two presentations annually to prospective students and their families - Attend Lamda Pi Eta departmental honors ceremony each semester
