Michelle Morin S Diversity Experience Spans Supplier Diversity, State Above and Below Threshold

Michelle N. Morin, M.B.A.: is the Executive Director of the State of Delaware Office of Supplier Diversity and a member of the Government Support Services Contracting Team. In her role she ensures access to economic opportunity for businesses owned 51% or more by minority, women, veterans, service disabled veterans, individuals with disabilities, and uniquely-sized small business entities. Michelle sits in participant or advisory roles on numerous councils, boards, and commissions, including: the Delaware Governor’s Supplier Diversity Council; the Delaware Hispanic Commission’s Economic Development Sub-Committee; the Delmarva Black Chamber of Commerce’s Minority Business Advisory Committee (MBAC); the Association of Builders and Contractors of Delaware’s (ABC Delaware) Diversity Committee; the Business Advisory Board of Delaware Technical Community College’s Terry Campus, Delaware’s State Council for Persons with Disabilities (SCPD), United Way of Delaware’s Muriel Gilman Women–in-Action mentoring program, and the YWCA’s Women Achieving A New Direction (WAND) program. Her supplier diversity experience spans state procurement, certification, strategic planning, reporting, outreach, inclusion, and creation of policy and methodologies. Michelle sits on the Board of Directors for The National Association of State Minority, Women, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Directors (NASMWDD), where she is an Executive Officer as both the acting national President and holds the office of Secretary. During her tenure Michelle and the office have been honored with the following awards: “Small Business Champion” by Delaware Financial Literacy Institute, FY2015; “Most Powerful and Influential Woman” by the National Diversity Council for PA, DE, and sNJ, FY2015; a “Shining Star” award by WBEC which is the local three-state chapter of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), FY2016; as Employee of the Quarter for the State of Delaware’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB), FY2016, and as the Entrepreneurial Advocate of the Year by New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, FY2016. Michelle continues to strive to create community, build relationships, and act as a B2B and G2B matchmaker by uniting resource partners and business owners to continue economic opportunity advancement at all levels.
