COMBINED LIABILITY INSURANCE
SUMMARY OF COVER
TYPE OF INSURANCE & COVER Employers Liability – this Section indemnifies the insured for any legal liability incurred arising from any bodily injury sustained by an employee occurring during the period of insurance and in the course of the business
Public Liability – this Section indemnifies the insured for any legal liability incurred for bodily injury (other that to employees) and/or loss of or damage to property occurring during the period of insurance and in the course of the business
Products Liability – this Section indemnifies the insured for any legal liability incurred for bodily injury (other than to employees) and/or loss of or damage to property occurring during the period of insurance and in the course of the business arising from any product
STANDARD EXTENSIONS Wide definition of Insured Person and Business Description Legal Fees and Expenses incurred in connection with the defence of the Claim Health & Safety at Work Act & Corporate Manslaughter – Legal defence Costs Unsatisfied Court Judgements Defective Premises Act Contingent Motor Liability Data Protection Act Indemnity to principal Court attendance costs
SIGNIFICANT & UNUSUAL EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS Hazardous Works (unless specifically endorsed) Pollution and Contamination other than sudden and accidental Offshore Work Goods in the care, custody or control of the Insured &/or property being worked upon Damage to or the repair or reinstatement of any spare parts, components, units, accessories or other goods sold or supplied or which were the subject of repair, servicing or maintenance giving rise to the liability of the Insured The use of heat (to include soldering, blow lamps, welding or cutting equipment) unless specifically agreed by the Insurers and endorsed on the quotation accordingly Fungus, Mould, Mildew or Component Building Materials which are a hazard to human health Goods manufactured sold supplied to the USA/Canada unless specifically agreed by the Insurers and endorsed on the quotation accordingly Liability for bodily injury to the Insured or any person or employee closely related to the Insured (unless the Insured is incorporated as a Limited Company) Deliberate Acts Professional Indemnity JCT Clause 21.2.1 or similar clause with same intent Fines, Penalties & Liquidated Damages, Punitive and Exemplary Damages Vessels and Crafts Defamation Terrorism Exception / Limitation Territorial Limits restricted to Great Britain, Channel Islands & Isle of Man, other than for non manual activities
CANCELLATION RIGHTS The period of insurance cover will be for 12 months unless shown differently on the quotation or insurance schedule. You will be given at least 21 days notice of the annual expiration date of the contract of the renewal terms.
The customer is entitled to cancel this insurance cover prior to the expiry of 14 days from the latter of:
a) The day of the conclusion of the contract b) The day on which the customer receives the product information from the broker who has contact with the customer
In the event that the customer does cancel the insurance contract in accordance with the above, you will be entitled to a refund of any premium paid less an amount calculated on a rateable proportion in respect of the unexpired cover provided that no claim has been made in the then current period of insurance.
B&L Underwriting Agencies Ltd may cancel this Insurance by giving you at least 14 days notice at your last known address. We will refund the appropriate proportion of your premiums
EXCESS You will be responsible for the first part of each claim (known as the Excess) under the Public / Products Liability Section in respect of loss or damage to Third Party Property

You must notify your Insurance Advisor or Broker as soon as you become aware of anything that may give rise to a claim being made against you and for which there may be liability under this insurance.
YOU MUST NOT SETTLE, REJECT, NEGOTIATE OR AGREE TO PAY ANY CLAIM WITHOUT B&L UNDERWRITING AGENCIES LTD’S WRITTEN PERMISSION
PREMIUM PAYABLE The total premium payable is as per the quotation provided which is attached to this document. Insurance Premium Tax at the rate of 6%, which is imposed by HM Government, is compulsory and payable in addition to the insurance premium shown IMPORTANT Whilst every care has been taken with the information in this document, only the main terms and conditions can be shown.

CUSTOMER INFORMATION It is always our intentions to provide a first class standard or service. However, if you do have any cause for complaint, you should contact your Insurance Advisor or Broker who arranged your Insurance or write to the Managing Director at B & L Underwriting Agencies Ltd, 6-8 Fenchurch Buildings, London EC3M 5HT.
We will acknowledge within five working days and advise you of the name and title of the person who is handling your complaint We will deal with your complaint as quickly as possible and aim to provide you with a formal response within twenty working days of receipt of the complaint. If compensation or redress is appropriate we will provide details with our response. If we feel your complaint is not justified full reasons for our decision will be provided to you

LAW APPLICABLE TO CONTRACT It is possible to choose the law applicable to a contract of insurance covering a risk situated in the United Kingdom. We have chosen Scottish Law if you live in Scotland and English law if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
Payment of premium will be evidence of acceptance of our choice. If any other law is to apply, it must be agreed by both parties and evidenced in writing.
