Sports Premium Money 2015/2014:

Achievements from previous year  Peartree Spring Primary School became further active members of Stevenage Sporting Futures Team. Helping other schools during CPD meetings.  PE Coordinators have received regular training and updates on the new curriculum and this training has been fed back to staff.  New equipment to support delivery in each year group has been purchased.  Participation in level 1 and level 2 competitions has increased in each key stage.21 events were entered throughout the year with 503 children participating.

 25 clubs were run by staff throughout the year which was an increase from the previous year’s total of 15.  Amount of children going to these after school clubs increased to 535 from the previous total of 371.  Inclusion training of staff and ongoing support for pupils with SEN has been provided by SSF team.  All staff received training on delivery of gymnastics sessions (this was identified as the area of weakness from staff questionnaires).  Integration of Val Sabin schemes of work for PE lessons.  PE co-ordinators ran drop in sessions to observe Gymnastics across the school. General feedback was delivered in staff meeting.

Focus for 2015/16 Further challenge of the higher achieving PE children:  Class teachers to identify pupils that show higher level competence during PE lessons. These children could become gifted and talented.  Contact local clubs with details how to extend children outside of school. Increasing the amount of competitions entered:  Subject leaders to introduce an ‘inter-house’ competition each term for children to take part in.  Work in partnership with SSFT to increase the number of Level 2 competitions.  Enter local football and netball leagues. Implement further monitoring and assessment of the delivery of PE throughout the school.  Implement programme to track fitness levels of children from EYFS to end of KS2 using Golden Mile tracking programme.  Create a committee of Young Sports leaders.
