Job Title: Trust Fundraising Officer
Reports to: Major Partnership Relations Manager
Department: Fundraising and Marketing
Purpose of the role
Working closely with the Major Partnership Relations Manager, the Trust Fundraising Officer will be responsible for submitting high quality, well researched proposals while managing existing relationships with trusts and foundations to ensure that donors receive regular updates.
Key responsibilities
To make appropriate, timely and effective approaches to new and existing trusts.
Take responsibility for ensuring the excellent care of all trust donors, and undertake all agreed trust reporting and communication.
Manage income & cost budgets reporting on monthly progress against agreed targets.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the trusts fundraising strategy.
Actively seek opportunities to increase income from trusts.
Research potential trusts and foundations using appropriate mechanisms.
Maintain & promote the keeping of accurate records in all aspects of the role fully utilising the functions of the Customer Relationship Management system (Raisers Edge)
To be fully conversant with relevant legislation and the guidelines of the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) and promote where necessary
Build strong relationships with relevant staff within the charity.
To undertake other such duties as may be required and which are consistent with the nature of this role
Person specification
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two year’s trust fundraising experience
Proven experience of writing quality proposals and applications with demonstrable success.
Experience of managing relationships with trusts and foundations. Experience of researching and identifying new trusts, foundation and statutory funding opportunities.
Ambitious and motivated to be successful, with the ability to plan, prioritise & manage a busy workload, achieve targets & delivering to deadlines.
Strong written and communication skills.
Resourceful with the ability to work on an individual basis as well as being part of the overall Fundraising and Marketing team.
Strong inter-personal & relationship building skills, an ability to work across teams & build strong internal & external networks
Experience of the Raisers’ Edge fundraising database would be an advantage.
An understanding of fundraising techniques, supporter centric care, CRM systems & relevant charitable legislation & guidelines
