HECTOR CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 18, 2010

CALL TO ORDER – SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING A meeting of the Hector City Council was called to order at 6:00 a.m. by Mayor Jeff Heerdt at the Hector City Hall. Members present: Council Members: Ralph Bergsma, Janet Olson, and Mark Schwiderski. Absent: Steve Squibb Staff present: Barbara Hoyhtya. Visitors: Darin Haslip and Lowell Grimm.

Mayor Heerdt called the meeting to order with the pledge of allegiance being said by everyone.

Motion to approve the agenda as printed by Council Member Bergsma, second by Council Member Schwiderski. Bergsma, Heerdt, Olson, and Schwiderski voted in favor, none voted against. Motion carried.

The council approve the termination of CDS Inspections, LLC with a motion by Council Member Schwiderski, second by Council Member Olson. Bergsma, Heerdt, Olson, and Schwiderski voted in favor, none voted against. Motion carried. The council would like his final payment held until it can be determined what is left open on the building permits.

Darin Haslip of 101 Development Resources explained his qualification as an interim building inspector. He has a common sense approach with needing to work with people and contractors. A form would need to be sent into the state to change inspectors. Haslip would keep things the same with the current contract for the interim. Council Member Olson motioned to approve 101 Development Resources, Inc. as the interim building inspector with the current fees as set with a second by Council Member Bergsma. Bergsma, Heerdt, Olson and Schwiderski voted in favor, none voted against. Motion carried. An RFP for the Building inspector will be prepared. The wording of the qualification of the inspector will be looked into. The inspector will be decided at the December meeting. It will be advertised on the web site and through the League.

Council Member Schwiderski thanked Penny Macik, Steve Caulkins and two council member for bringing this issue forward and for their work on this.

Motion to adjourn the meeting by Council Member Olson, second by Council Member Bergsma. Bergsma, Heerdt, Olson and Schwiderski voted in favor, none voted against. Motion carried.
