THE SOUTHERN ARIZONA VA HEALTH CARE SYSTEM OPENING NEW SAFFORD COMMUNITY BASED OUTPATIENT CLINIC

Tucson, AZ – The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) is opening the new Safford VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. The new clinic location will accommodate Veterans in the Safford/Thatcher, Clifton, Southeastern Arizona and western New Mexico area with high quality health care for enrolled Veterans and future Veterans living in those areas who are eligible for VA health care. The new Clinic has a total of 2,836 sq. feet which is 932 sq. ft. larger than the former facility.

The address for the new Safford Clinic is 355 North 8th Avenue, in Safford, Arizona 85546. The new Clinic will offer the following services and scope of care: routine primary care, chronic disease management, well women’s care, mental health services, telemedicine, immunizations, and health education and promotion. Emergency Care is not available at this facility but an after-hours nurse advice line is available by calling the clinic. Veterans should contact the clinic for Eligibility and Enrollment information by calling (928) 428-8010. The existing Safford Community Based Outpatient Clinic will be closed for patient visits on August 14 starting at 11:00 a.m., and all day Friday August 15 due to their move to the new Clinic location. Once the Clinic move is completed, the hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed all Federal Holidays. The Clinic phone number is (928) 428-8010.
