Engineering Document Control Administrator

Lamar Technologies LLC is seeking an Engineering Document Control Administrator to perform administrative duties maintaining all engineering documentation that is required by suppliers, Lamar production, OEM customers and FAA regulators under the guidance of the Engineering Manager. This role also initiates, tracks and coordinates document revisions through the Quality System for all company documents.

Summary of Duties & Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 Maintains files & tracks all documentation in support of engineering department.  Maintains master drawing lists.  Opens tracks and closes Engineering and Document Change Orders.  Manages the distribution of all engineering changes and documents in such a manner that purchasing, quality and production have the technical documentation to perform their jobs.  Assist Engineering manager in communication with and reporting to the appropriate FAA regulatory personnel and OEM customers regarding engineering and production changes.  Generates and edits documents as specified by the engineers.  Maintains all internal Quality System documents.  Maintains electronic files and spreadsheet matrix of all document changes.  Creates and maintains new Part Numbers and Bill of Material (BOM) for all production components.  Develops, maintains and implements department policies and procedures.  Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the basic knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

 Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities, projects.  Ability to work with outside suppliers and technical professionals.  Knowledge of current configuration management theories and practices.  Ability to work with representatives of regulatory agencies, notified bodies, and customers.  Strong ability to implement change while maintaining day-to-day operations.  Must be proficient in using basic software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.  Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Excellent internal and external customer service skills.  Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics.

 Made2Manage MRP software experience.  Project management experience.  CAD/CAM software experience.  Basic understanding of Electronic and Electro-mechanical assemblies.

Education

 Associates degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

 3+ years related document coordination work experience.  1+ year related work experience interacting with the FAA or similar regulatory body.  1+ year related work experience using Made2Manage.

Additional Details

 Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and random drug screening as outlined by Lamar’s alcohol and drug policy.  Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day.  Must be willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment.
