APPLIANCE BID ATHENS HOUSING AUTHORITY ATHENS, GEORGIA

The Athens Housing Authority is accepting written quotations for the purchase, delivery and installation of refrigerators (112 ea) at various AHA-owned properties within Athens, Georgia. The installs must be completed no later than December 11, 2015.

The manufacturer must meet or exceed H.U.D. specifications for Public Housing appliances as well as current Department of Energy standards and shall be Energy-Star rated. Manufacturers who cannot demonstrate experience in supplying appliances designed specifically to meet Public Housing standards shall not be considered.

The bidder shall be required to submit quotations to the Athens Housing Authority, 300 S. Rocksprings Street, Athens, Georgia 30606 not later than 11:00 a.m. EST Thursday September 24, 2015. Bidders may be required to provide sample appliances for evaluation, with shipping and return freight responsible by the bidder. Only one model may be offered (no optional offers).

Prior to offering a bid, contractors & sub-contractors must register with the Federal E-verify program and provide an affidavit certifying compliance. Vendors must comply with the equal employment and Section 3 requirements of the Federal Government and meet the minimum insurance requirements of the AHA.

Attention is called to the fact that wages not less than the HUD Maintenance wage rates listed hereunder must be paid on this Project.

The Athens Housing Authority shall have the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bid process.

Delivery and installation of refrigerators, white color as follows:

QUANTITY: 112 each

The exact quantities are subject to minimal change, upon an AHA inspection and verification of each apartment unit.

The seller shall be responsible for the storage of new appliances and the disposal of old. The seller will collect and dispose of all packaging materials at the end of each day.

The appliances shall meet the construction and performance requirements of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The refrigerators shall be not less than 14.6 cft and shall be Energy Star rated. Refrigerators may have handles, but a recessed finger-pull, no-handle design is considered by the AHA as a low- maintenance, cost-savings option. The installer and/or the resident will transfer food items to the new refrigerator prior to removal of the old unit. All refrigerators must include two ice trays and an ice tray shelf (may be shipped separately to be installed by the contractor).

The Seller shall be responsible for documenting the serial number for each appliance and will attach an Athens Housing Authority furnished bar code tag on each appliance.

The Athens Housing Authority will accompany the installer at all times.

The seller shall guarantee that the appliances are free from defects in design, workmanship and materials. The Seller or the manufacturer will repair, replace and install, free of charge, any part becoming defective within a minimum of one year from the date of installation (as documented by the Athens Housing Authority).

The bidder shall include with the bid an original cut-sheet for each model quoted, a replacement parts catalog, warranty information and warranty repair procedures (clearly state the name, phone number and address of the local repair agent and the requirements for use of the warranty replacement program). An award shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder conforming to the requirements of this invitation after review and approval of the bid items. Bidders may be asked to provide sample units for functionality, repair and quality evaluation prior to award at their expense for delivery and return.

The bidder is advised that the determination of award shall be solely at the discretion of the Athens Housing Authority, considering the following components: *Price *Conformance to bid submittal requirements (inc E-Verify & Insurance requirements) *Bidders familiarity and compliance with HUD requirements *Quality of product, including construction and safety features *Serviceability (both warranty and future in-house repairs)

Award shall be made to the bidder who, by the evaluation of the Athens Housing Authority, best meets the conditions of the bid and product requirements. Note that the Athens Housing Authority is not obligated to accept the lowest offer and may consider any documentable evidence of quality, warranty and other comparative factors in the selection process, including the use of internet-based ratings & reviews.
