YOU MUST INDICATE ANY TIME OFF YOU REQUIRE FOR VACATIONS, CLINICS OR SPORT ACTIVITIES. These times must be approved prior to commencement of work. Information Sheet ( Applicants Keep These Two Pages )

ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE:

1) FULL TIME STUDENTS which means as of March 2013 you must be:  Attending High School full time; or  Attending a post secondary institution taking at least 4 full-time courses; and  You must be returning to school in the fall of 2013

2) AT LEAST 16 YEARS OF AGE.

3) MUST POSSESS A CURRENT FIRST AID CERTIFICATE AND ALL OTHER REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS (varies according to position).

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION FOR POSITIONS:

All positions:

1. All certifications must be current for the duration of employment. It is the responsibility of the applicant to certify/re-certify BEFORE employment commences.

2. All students offered a position must provide a Criminal Record check. PLEASE NOTE: only students offered a position will be required to provide a criminal record check.

3. All successful candidates will, as a condition of employment, be required to attend a Leadership Seminar given by the Growth & Community Services Department near the end of June.

4. All summer staff are expected to be available to work the entire summer season. Individuals not available for the whole summer will be considered last. As this is a summer position only, very limited time off is available. Time not requested in advance is very unlikely to be granted. Lifeguards and swim instructors may only take off three scheduled work days in a row.

5. Photocopies of all pertinent qualifications must be attached to your application or it will not be considered.

6. Preference where appropriate is given to university/college students studying in a related field.

7. Preference for positions is given to applicants based on qualifications, experience, past work record, and those who have worked successfully in these programs in previous years.

Additional Information for Lifeguards & Swim Instructors

8. N.L.S. Certificate, C.P.R. and First Aid are the required qualifications for employment as a lifeguard. Instructors, pool managers and assistant managers must have the Lifesaving Society’s Swim For Life and/or Lifesaving Instructor qualifications as well.

9. Preference for aquatic positions is given to applicants based on qualifications, experience, past work record, and those who have worked for the Fredericton Indoor Pool during the school year.

10. Candidates may indicate their preference of facility as well as if they want to work indoors or outdoors, however, we cannot guarantee placement at these sites. Jobs you could apply for:
