Characteristics of 21 Donors of 25 Molars

We obtained and assayed 25 molars from 21 molar donors at a local dental clinic to better assess the detection frequency, concentration distribution, and within-subject variability of selected chemicals in deciduous molars in the local general population. Demographic characteristics of the 21 molar donors are presented in Table S1. The subjects are predominantly Hispanic, and all except one were born between 1998 and 2005. Two donated molars were selected for assay from four of the subjects to explore the within-subject variability in the concentrations of detected chemicals measured in the molar pairs. We looked at whether nearly simultaneously formed molars (ie, both first molars or both second molars assayed) showed less measurement variability than when the formation windows were more separated (one first molar and one second molar assayed). Pertinent characteristics of the molars were noted before preparation for assay and are described in Table S2: whether extracted or exfoliated and whether the molar had visible cavities, fillings, and/or attached roots. Fewer of the molars had been shed before donation than were extracted at the dental clinic. Most of the molars contained cavities and few had been filled.

Concentrations of Individual LC/MS/MS Analytes and Fatty Acids in the 25 Molars

The individual measured concentrations of the 13 analytes and recovery of the spiked

acetaminophen-d4 surrogate determined by LC/MS/MS in the 25 molars obtained at the local dental clinic are presented in Table S3 in an excel file. Recoveries of each spiked and equilibrated target

1 Chemicals in molars and perinatal exposure chemical from aliquots of three of these powdered molars are also given in Table S3. The individual measured concentrations of the five omega 3 and four omega 6 fatty acids and recovery of the spiked triheneicosanoin surrogate determined by GC/MS/SIM in the 25 molars are presented in Table S4 in an excel file. Recoveries of each spiked and equilibrated target fatty acid from aliquots of two of these powdered molars are also given in Table S4.
