Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for the Olympic Equestrian Events

(I) Sha Tin

 From 8 to 21 August 2008, a section of Yuen Wo Road outside the Sha Tin venue will be designated as a 24-hour prohibited zone.

 On the event days, bridges across the nullah and part of the cycle tracks near the Sha Tin venue will be closed from 2 hours before to 1 hour after the events.

(II) North

On 11 August 2008

A. From 5 am to 2 pm:

 A section of Fan Kam Road between Po Kin Road and Lin Tong Mei will be designated as a prohibited zone.

 Arising from the designation of prohibited zone on Fan Kam Road, the following arrangements of public transport services will be made: * KMB Rt. No. 77K (Yuen Long West – Cheung Wah) will be truncated to Lin Tong Mei; * GMB Rt. No. 57K (Cheung Lek/ Tsiu Keng – Sheung Shui Station) will be suspended; * The Equestrian Company will provide free shuttle bus service between On Po Village/ Cheung Lek/ Tsiu Keng and Sheung Shui Station; and * GMB Rt. No. 50K (Hang Tau – Sheung Shui Station) will be strengthened.

 The road sections near North District Hospital (i.e. Po Kin Road, Ching Hiu Road, Po Ping Road, Ping Kong Road and Fan Kam Road) will be designated as restricted zones.

B. From 6 am to 2 pm:

 Relocate the bus stop on Pak Wo Road outside Fanling Station from its original location to about 100 m towards Wah Ming Estate.

 Relocate the following Residents’ Service stopping points to Fanling Station Road: * NR112 (Dawning Views – Fung Ying Seen Koon) * NR113 (Avon Park – Fanling Station)

 The general loading and unloading bay on Fanling Station Road will be designated as a restricted zone. Motorists may use Pik Fung Road.  To avoid clashing pedestrian flow coming from Fanling South to Fanling Station with spectators leaving the station, the cycle track adjacent to Pak Wo Road between Chi Fuk Circuit and Pak Fuk Tin Sum Playground will be converted into a footpath for pedestrian diversion.

From 4 to 12 Aug ust 08:

 The cycle parking spaces adjacent to Pak Wo Road near Fanling Station and Fanling Highway have been suspended. New spaces are available near Pak Fuk Tin Sum Playground and Chi Fuk Circuit.

(III) Tsim Sha Tsui

 From 5 August to 12 September 2008, part of the lay-by on Mody Road outside Shangri-La Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui will be designated as a 24-hour restricted zone to facilitate the operation of shuttle buses for the event guests to travel between the Airport, venues and Olympic Village.

 During the above period, other vehicles can still use the rest of the lay-by for loading/ unloading activities.
