Bienvenidos Spanish I Syllabus Sra. Freeman

Course Objective: Students will develop basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in order to communicate in Spanish. Students will also be introduced to different forms of Hispanic culture, from everyday life to art and literature.

Tentative Schedule:

1 st Nine Weeks

Supplies:

1. Three ring binder 2. Five section dividers 3. Loose-leaf paper 4. Pencils with erasers 5. Pencil sharpener 6. Highlighters 7. Pencil pouch for the notebook. 8. Spanish/English Dictionary – optional World Language Fee:

10.00 – This will cover the cost of craft and cultural enrichment supplies as well as ancillary workbook materials.

Classroom Rules:

 Be on Time and Be Prepared  Be Respectful of Others and of Classroom Property  Student ID must be worn and visible at all times.  Remain Seated Until the Bell Rings

Failure to comply with classroom rules will result in a warning/phone call to parent, and/or an office referral.

Cell Phone Policy

The use of cell phones and other electronic devices will NOT be permitted in this classroom. Upon entering the classroom, students must silence and put away all devices. Failure to do so will result in the following offenses:

1st Offense: The teacher will take up the device and return it at the end of class. 2nd Offense: The teacher will take up the device and return it at the end of class. Parent will be notified. 3rd Offense: The teacher will take up the device and turn it in to the main office.

Grading Policy:

Each graded item is out of a 100 point scale. The following items count twice:

 Tests  Diarios  Notebook Checks  Projects

All other assignments such as quizzes, graded homework or class work, will count once. Student Progress Reports will be sent home every three weeks prior to grade cards. These must be signed by parent and returned to the teacher. Make-up Work / Tutoring:

In the event of an absence, students will be able to make up missed assignments, quizzes, or tests. It is the student’s responsibility to check on any missed work and complete it in a timely manner. Check with the teacher for a list of missed assignments and/or handouts. I will be available to assist with make-up work or tutoring during the CCRT Time on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 1:30 – 1:55.

*Points will be deducted for unexcused late work.
