Grant County Futures Scholarship 2014-2015

Grant County College Advisory Board

 No late or incomplete applications will be considered.

 You must have been a resident of Grant County since April 24, 2013.

 Completed applications are due at the Grant County Center on or before 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014.

 Scholarships will be awarded in early May, 2014 and are to be used during the 2014-2015 academic year.

 Scholarship dollars must be applied to courses or workshops through the distance education programs of EOU and BMCC at the Grant County Center

Applicant: This application is due at the Grant County Center, 835 B. South Canyon Blvd, John Day, by 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 24 2014. Please fill out completely, answering all questions and including all elements of this application. No late or incomplete applications will be accepted.

(2)Residency I have been a full-time resident of Grant County since November April 24, 2013. Yes_____No____ (Applicants must have been county residents for at least one year.) (3) Personal Statement Please submit a one-page handwritten or typed statement to include the following: (a) Your educational and career and/or personal goals (b) what you have done so far to achieve your goals (c) why you are deserving of this scholarship (d) any other pertinent information you wish the committee to consider. (4) Financial Statement On a second typed page, provide the following: (a) Describe your financial circumstances (b) List any other financial assistance you are receiving, including grants, loans, scholarships, employer assistance, military, etc. (c) any other financial information that you wish the committee to consider.

(5) Letters of Recommendation Include two current letters of recommendation (within the last 9 months) addressing your qualifications for this scholarship. (6) Intended Use As far as possible, note your plans for the use of scholarship funds. Please list specific courses, training or workshops. You may describe general educational goals if you don’t know specific courses at this time.
