May 11, 2018 Position Description No. 1.2012 Position: Electrical Engineer Exempt: X Non-exempt: Supercedes: None 1.0 JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The basic function of the Electrical Engineer is to improve existing designs and develop new designs of high quality, state of the art CNC precision grinders and related equipment. This position is responsible for the related design analysis, detailed documentation and coordination with the operations personnel to produce the finished products. 2.0 POSITION QUALIFICATIONS The person in this position must have excellent organization, analytical and problem solving skills. He or she must be able to communicate effectively with customers, in person and by telephone, and other employees at all levels of the company. He or she must be disciplined and goal oriented, while being creative enough to provide and work with new ideas and approaches to designs and processes. Must be team oriented and be able to work within schedules and budgets without sacrificing quality. 3.0 REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 3.1 Education Required: Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Preferred: Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. 3.2 Licensing / Registration / Certification Required: Valid driver’s license/Passport Preferred: Same as required. 3.3 Experience Required: At least 5 years experience working with machine tools and CNC systems, including troubleshooting. Preferred: Additional experience working with GE Fanuc controls and servos. 3.4 Skills / Knowledge / Abilities 3.4.1 Must have the ability to understand, assemble and operate the company’s products, with training. 3.4.2 Must have extensive knowledge of Windows and of software programming for machine tool applications using multiple languages, such as Visual Basic, C++, Pascal and ladder logic. 3.4.3 Must be fully capable of sophisticated electrical engineering analysis for evaluation and problem solving. 3.4.4 Must have comprehensive knowledge of digital servo systems.

May 11, 2018 Position Description No. 1.2012 Position: Electrical Engineer Exempt: X Non-exempt: Supercedes: None 3.4.5 Must have comprehensive troubleshooting knowledge and be able to effectively use troubleshooting tools, such as oscilloscopes, meters, and other diagnostic equipment. 3.4.6 Must be able to visualize layouts and designs. Must also be able to read, prepare and understand all engineering documentation used by the company. 3.4.7 Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and employees at all levels of the company. 3.4.8 Must have the ability to work against and meet strict deadlines. 3.4.9 Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. The Electrical Engineer must be able to switch from one project to another with little or no reorientation necessary. 3.5 Physical 3.5.1 Body Positions Sitting, walking, standing for extended periods. 3.5.2 Body Movements Must have a full range of body movements including the use of hands and fingers, bending, squatting, crouching and reaching over head. Must have the ability to climb in and out of machines that the company produces and to lift 50 pounds. Must have the agility to negotiate somewhat congested office areas. 3.5.3 Senses Must have the full use of eyes, including close vision, the ability to adjust focus and the ability to see and differentiate colors, shades of colors and patterns. 3.6 Mental 3.6.1 Mathematics Must be able to understand and perform the complex processes and equations necessary to perform the required engineering tasks. 3.6.2 Language English proficiency, both verbally and in writing, to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees. 3.7 Working Conditions Work will be done primarily in the climate-controlled office and shop. Training will include a period of time working in the shop as an assembler, to become familiar with the company’s products and assembly techniques. Out of town travel (which may include foreign countries) for several days at a time is expected, requiring air travel and driving by automobile. Eight to ten hour workdays are expected during the week, with additional hours required as the workload and customer schedules dictate. This position deals with strict deadlines.

May 11, 2018 Position Description No. 1.2012 Position: Electrical Engineer Exempt: X Non-exempt: Supercedes: None 4.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS The Electrical Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Manager. 5.0 AUTHORITY and ACCOUNTABILITY 5.1 Authority The Electrical Engineer has the necessary authority to successfully accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the position. 5.2 Accountability The Electrical Engineer is directly accountable to the Engineering Manager for the accomplishment of all responsibilities and duties assigned.

May 11, 2018 Position Description No. 1.2012 Position: Electrical Engineer Exempt: X Non-exempt: Supercedes: None PERFORMANCE EVALUATION Evaluation of the Electrical Engineer’s performance will be made by the Engineering Manager twice each year based on the responsibilities, duties, and other performance criteria outlined below. Rating will be on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 representing the poorest performance and 5 representing excellent performance. A tally and total performance score is provided as part of the Evaluation Report. 6.0 RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES The primary responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer consist of, but are not limited to the following: Performance Rating

6.1 For machines being built, perform the following, in accordance with established procedures and with the requirements of the Factory Sales Order: 6.1.1 Develop ladder logic. ______6.1.2 Prepare schematics and related bills of material ______6.1.3 Perform machine startup. ______6.2 Develop software for special applications, as required. ______6.3 Design customer electronic interface circuits, as required. ______6.4 Evaluate features and improvements in new controls and servo systems for ______possible incorporation into Weldon products. 6.5 Analyze machine designs for incorporation of the servo systems, including ______inertia calculations, torque requirements, geometric accuracy and other pertinent analyses. 6.6 Work with the Applications Engineers (AE’s) develop and/or evaluate ______requests for changes in machine operation. Perform and document the necessary changes to those features. 6.7 Work with the other engineering disciplines to develop the optional ______equipment specified by the Factory Sales Order. Train AE’s in the proper use of optional equipment added to machines. 6.8 Work with the Electrical Assemblers to guide and monitor their work from a ______technical standpoint. Communicate with the Operations Manager as to the status and quality of the work. 6.9 Work with the Operations Manager and Customer Service Manager to assist ______in the training of Electrical Assemblers to perform an increasing amount of assembly, start-up and service tasks. 6.10 Complete all work within the established schedule and in accordance with ______the customer’s specifications.

May 11, 2018 Position Description No. 1.2012 Position: Electrical Engineer Exempt: X Non-exempt: Supercedes: None 6.11 In accordance with Factory Sales Orders, prepare all Electrical Engineering ______customer documentation. 6.12 Participate in customer demonstrations and run-offs, as required. ______6.13 Determine the exact specifications of the CNC controls to be used and work ______with the Operations Manager to prepare the required purchasing documents. 6.14 Work with the Materials Manager to determine the specifications of other ______electrical parts and assist in finding qualified vendors, as necessary. 6.15 When assigned, perform the following customer service tasks, in ______accordance with established procedures. 6.15.1 Provide and document effective customer telephone support, in a timely manner, as requested by the Customer Service Manager. 6.15.2 Troubleshoot machine problems at the customer’s location, ______determine and implement solutions, and document the problem and results. 6.15.3 Maintain effective communications with the Customer Service ______Manager to solve problems and share technical information and customer information.

6.16 Participate, as requested by the Sales Engineer, in the quotation development process. This includes: 6.16.1 Provide advice and consultation regarding the electrical engineering ______discipline, as it pertains to Weldon’s alternatives to fulfill the customer’s requirements. 6.16.2 Estimate electrical engineering hours needed for proposed customer ______options and unusual circumstances. 6.17 Actively participate in the weekly Engineering Department meetings to ______ensure that regular and open communication takes place regarding the coordination and planning for both active and future customers, as well as technical and engineering information needed by others. 6.18 Actively participate in the research, evaluation and development of new ______ideas and concepts for the company’s products, including design, assembly and customer service. 6.19 Perform all other duties deemed appropriate by the Engineering Manager. ______7.0 OTHER PERFORMANCE CRITERIA 7.1 Planning and time utilities 7.1.1 Consistently show the ability to recognize and deal with priorities. ______

The Performance Evaluation process includes the evaluation of each responsibility/duty/task on a line by line basis. This is where specific areas of achievement or concern can best be identified and addressed. This then allows for benchmarks for future performance and plans for growth in the strengths identified and for improvement of the weaknesses identified. The appropriate evaluation is not complete, however, until the areas of improvement have been identified and the methodology for achieving the desired improvements has been agreed. I will also be provided a copy of an Employee Handbook, detailing other requirements and responsibilities, in addition to those stated in this document. I also understand that, although there are items which can be delegated to other employees, I am fully accountable for assuring that these items are carried out as required, and that the functional role of Electrical Engineer cannot be delegated to another member of the team.
