FRANKLIN, 12 EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA TRIAL 13 LAWYERS ASSOCIATION, FOR HER DEDICATED HARD 14 WORK WITH THAT ASSOCIATION AND FOR HER 15 HUMANITARIAN SPIRIT, AND COMMENDING HER FOR 16 HER EFFORTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN MAKING THE 17 PALMETTO STATE SAFE FOR FAMILIES. 18 19 Whereas, Linda M. Franklin began her career with the South 20 Carolina Trial Lawyers Association (SCTLA) twenty years ago; 21 she has served as the association’s executive director since 1989, 22 and she also currently serves as president of the National 23 Association of Trial Lawyer Executives (NATLE); and 24 25 Whereas, Ms. Franklin has served SCTLA and her community 26 outstandingly; she volunteers and serves on the board of directors 27 for Carolina Sunshine for Children, making wishes come true for 28 children who have life-threatening illnesses; she provides 29 Halloween party favors each year to the children in residence at the 30 South Carolina State Mental Health Hospital in Columbia; she is 31 an active member of Ashland United Methodist Church, where she 32 currently serves as a member of the church’s Financial Committee; 33 she is a member of the South Carolina Society of Association 34 Executives; and she is also the very proud aunt of eighteen nieces 35 and nephews and of fifteen grandnieces and grandnephews with 36 one on the way; and 37 38 Whereas, she is known by her countless friends across the nation 39 as an individual who is dedicated to her work at SCTLA and its 40 goal of keeping families safe; and 41

1 [3837] 1 1 Whereas, Linda Franklin is one of the most respected and admired 2 professional executives in South Carolina and is a beloved 3 humanitarian; it truly gives us great pleasure to have this 4 opportunity to recognize this very outstanding lady for her 5 accomplishments and hard work. Now, therefore, 6 7 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 8 concurring: 9 10 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 11 Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and salute Linda M. 12 Franklin, executive director of the South Carolina Trial Lawyers 13 Association, for her dedicated hard work with that association and 14 for her humanitarian spirit and commend her for her efforts and 15 accomplishments in making the Palmetto State safe for families. 16 17 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 18 Ms. Franklin. 19 ----XX----
