A RESOLUTION honoring and commending Forrest and Barbara Hahn upon the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary on March 17, 2006. WHEREAS, Forrest and Barbara Hahn entered into the bonds of holy matrimony on March 17, 1956, at the Fox Creek Christian Church in Anderson County, Kentucky; and WHEREAS, Forrest and Barbara Hahn moved to Lexington, Kentucky in 1963, where Forrest worked for the University of Kentucky as a computer programmer after his graduation from Transylvania University; and WHEREAS, Barbara stayed home and raised their four children and, when the youngest entered high school, she went to work for the University of Kentucky at the William T. Young Library; and WHEREAS, both Forrest and Barbara Hahn have now proudly retired from the University of Kentucky, Forrest with 38 years of service and Barbara with 21 years of service; and WHEREAS, Forrest and Barbara Hahn have raised four loving and successful children, Karen Jefferson, Janet Rivers, Forrest Hahn, and Susan Handler; and WHEREAS, Forrest and Barbara Hahn have experienced 50 years together filled with love, perpetual friendship, confidence, and integrity; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: Section 1. The Senate extends its sincere congratulations to Forrest and Barbara Hahn upon the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary on March 17, 2006. Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Forrest and Barbara Hahn.
