Dear Parents/Guardians

Your child (in grade 4–8) may be interested in joining our cross country running team. Attendance at the majority of the team practices is essential. Practices will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the school soccer field from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. (beginning Wed., Sep. 7). If you feel your child would be able to attend most practices, please sign below, giving your permission. Please return the bottom portion of this letter to your child’s teacher by September 7. The teacher will put the bottom portion of this letter is Mrs. McKee’s mailbox.

You must pick your child up outside the school at 4:00 p.m. Students may walk home after the practices if so indicated on the slip below.

Beginning Wed., Sep. 21 it will be necessary to hold practices at Sunnidale Park. At that time it will be the parent’s responsibility to arrange transportation to and from the park. Parents must pick up their children at Sunnidale by 4:15 p.m. The Cross Country Regional Meet at Sunnidale Park is scheduled for Thursday, September 29 (severe weather date October 03). Successful athletes at this meet will be invited to the County meet scheduled for October 18 and held at (tentatively) Mount St. Louis, Moonstone.

For their safety, runners must wear proper “running” shoes, socks, shorts, or running pants, and a t-shirt. It is imperative that each runner have their own water bottle with their name on it. Any running that students can do on their own is always beneficial to their health and their running performance.

Sincerely Mrs. L. McKee, Cross Country Coach As Jesus taught us, we strive for excellence in our Catholic education.
