Col. John O. Ensor Middle School 2015-2016 School Improvement Team Minutes for Meeting held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016

1. Welcome/Roll Call 3:33 Esparza

2. Bell Schedule 2016-2017 Esparza a. Ms. Esparza disseminated a draft of the bell schedule for the 2016-2017 school year. b. Department chairs, SCEIS, and counselors met with Ms. Esparza in January to discuss this proposed bell schedule. c. This new bell schedule would follow the current Olweus bell schedule which has Homeroom the first 30 minutes of the day. d. Intervention or Enrichment classes would be offered every day during Homeroom so as to allow students room for elective classes.

3. Dress Code 2016-2017 Esparza a. Ensor will continue using khaki pants and shorts along with red, white, or red polos and Ensor spirit shirts. b. Discussion on whether to keep mesh or translucent backpacks for the 2016-2017 school year was discussed. The pros and cons were deliberated at length. The committee could not reach a consensus thus it was tabled. Ms. Esparza proposed that each rep discuss the issue with their respective departments and during the March SIT meeting reach a consensus.
