What the Education for Liberation Project (ELP) 2 Is

Jul. 20 – Sept. 4 What the Education for Liberation Project (ELP) 2 Is: ELP 2 is an 7-week program designed to equip FIERCE’s active members with the skills they need to be effective organizers. ELP 2 is a training ground to prepare folks for the work ahead. We need brilliant youth leaders and organizers to head up our campaign work and our base building efforts. ELP 2 is one way we build and strengthen our members’ leadership.

ELP 2 will build your skills in the following areas, among many more:

 Movement Building  Grassroots Fundraising  Outreach & Recruitment  Direct Action Organizing  Campaign Development  Media Skills

ELIGIBILITY FOR ELP 2: You must:  be a graduate of ELP 1 or the BB Intensive  be passionate about being a leader at FIERCE and want the support of ELP to continue developing your leadership skills  be an ACTIVE member or committed to becoming an active member at FIERCE after ELP 2  meet the attendance requirements of ELP 2  identify as a queer, trans, or gender nonconforming youth of color between the ages of 13-24

TIME COMMITMENT: ELP 2 Meets every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 4-8pm. In order to graduate you must attend all sessions of ELP 2; however, you are allowed 3 absences.

STIPEND & METRO CARDS: The stipend is $600 for attending all ELP 2 sessions. Stipends will be paid at the end of the program. 2-trip metro cards will be given on all ELP 2 programming days.
