Approval of Minutes June 6, 2016: Moved by Frank Whitman, seconded by Ray Williams, motion carried.

Payment of new bills, approval. 1900.00 to Smoke Daze, catering company for the 4th of July reunion. Moved by Frank Whitman, seconded by Ray Williams, no vote by Philip Williams, due to fact that this wasn’t a chamber event and they shouldn’t have been involved in anything to do with it, motion carried. 113.97 to Philip Williams for website, Philip Williams abstained on this bill. $665.00 to Winnemucca Publishing for Welcome to Austin papers, $50.00 for annual filing to Secretary of State $500.00 Charter Advertising finalize grant , $1318.01 to Cash and Carry for Great Race expenses, moved by Frank Whitman, seconded by Ray Williams, to pay these bills, motion carried.

Overview of Correspondence: Dee Helming handed in letter of resignation, final day to be Sept 29, 2016. Moved by Ray Williams, seconded by Philip Williams, to accept the letter of resignation, motion carried. Notice of job needs to go up immediately so Dee can train.

Scoping letters from USFS & BLM: None Office report: Dee gave an update on the membership letters, and billing for cal ads and website. Dee will be gone to Wyoming July 15-24.

Committee reports: www.austinnevada.com: Several updates are needed on the Chamber page, officers list, email addresses, and fly-in details. .

PET: Ed Spear will be Chairman as of July 1. There will be a meeting on July 8, 2016 in Dayton.

Austin Planning: Dee called Rex Massey and discussed the RV ordinance and how it ties into the County Master Plan and update on County Ordinances. Rex will look at the information Dee sent him and move forward.

Broadband Committee: Atom Splash sent out a card, promoting their business for the Austin Area.

Food Bank: No report.

Geothermal updates, No report.

New Marketing ideas: Kara Lenox reports that she has a contact that would be willing to work with us on marketing and on our website. There is an interest in doing an ATV run between Battle Mountain and Austin on Labor Day weekend.

Vets Memorial: no update.

NEW BUSINESS:

Change of meeting date for Sept.: Due to Labor Day weekend, the meeting will be held on Tuesday, as per the By- laws. Dee also asked if they wanted to table the meeting as the Annual Membership meeting is coming up at the end of the month. No, we will do both meetings.

Wine Walk: date of Wine walk, Sept 10, 2016. Dee plans on ordering the wine glasses and start promoting in August.

Birthday Calendars: Moved by Frank Whitman, seconded by Philip Williams to do the 2017 Birthday calendars. Ads will be $30.00 and they will sell for $5.00 again, motion carried.

Austin Beautification fund: Dee will research prices and report back.

OLD BUSINESS: Grants: NCOT Grants done, Dee put in for Nevada Magazine and web maintenance. Frank Whitman reports that the RAC grants are coming up again and anyone that has any ideas we can put in for, please do so.

The Great Race in 2016: The Great race was here on June 20, we hosted a lunch stop. We only spent part of the money from C & T; do we have to send back the extra? Poncho will check and get back to us.

Annual membership meeting: Dee will invite Ira Hansen to be the guest speaker, and the date is set for Sept 23 at the Toiyabe café.

4 th of July: General discussion on the All School Reunion and what a great turn out. Motels were full, and people were all over town. The Poles with banners were put up, with the help of Lander County Road and Bridge, and it was decided that we should just leave them up, and change some of the flags. Dee will look into pricing. This can go on the next agenda. Due to issues with confirmation from the Fire Dept, the fireworks are canceled this year. Ron Unger had graciously offered to come up and supervise setting them off, as he is licensed pyro-techniques. Philip Williams, suggested that we look into getting someone here in Austin licensed.

Community signs: Combine this in with the beautification fund. Dee is in contact with NDOT to see what the regulations are on updating the little signs.
