Highly flexible roller coupling for heavy duty applications
CENTA Antriebe Kirschey GmbH presents CENTAFLEX-RS, a highly flexible roller coupling for heavy duty applications, at the bauma in Munich, April 23 – 29, 2007. The novel coupling provides the perfect solution for numerous applications in marine drives or industrial machinery. A new elastomer, especially developed for excellent temperature resistance, allows installation of the coupling in settings with high ambient temperatures.
The CENTAFLEX-RS is a robust roller coupling with a progressive torsional characterisation and a torque range of 0.25 to 15 kNm. While the highly flexible coupling shows only low torsional stiffness in low to medium power ranges, thus shifting torsional resonances below idle speed, the stiffness adjusts to higher torque ranges. Its progressive torsional characteristic makes the CENTAFLEX-RS the perfect solution for applications where load increases in proportion to speed. Annoying gear chatter belongs to the past.
The highly flexible roller coupling is mainly used in marine drives. But the robust and fail safe coupling is also suited for a variety of possible applications including industrial drives, e.g. flange-mounted drives, or well aligned inde- pendently mounted units on rigid mounts.
Temperature-resistant elastomer CENTALAN, especially developed for the CENTAFLEX-RS, allows reliable application in settings with high ambient temperatures of more than 100°C. The roller coupling owes its high allowable energy loss to intensive inner and outer ventilation. The HD-version even features oil-resistant rubber rollers to meet the requirements placed by extremely difficult applications.
Using the rubber-in-compression principle with rubber rollers between two cams, the CENTAFLEX-RS offers considerably higher reliability than vulcanised standard-type couplings. The associated cams for the rollers are profiled using extensive computer simulations, finite element analyses and test bench trials.
Showcased at the bauma, hall A4, stand 213, April 23 – 29, 2007. The innovative CENTA couplings and drives are always based on the latest technology. CENTA has a long history of innovations. It has been offering a 370 words. Printing is free wide range of flexible couplings and shafts for almost four decades, which of charge. A specimen copy propelled the company into a leadership position in various industries, including to ARIADNE MedienAgentur marine engineering and the energy sector.
