WHO MAY APPLY: ENLISTED (TSgt/E-6 and below). For Merit Announcements, eligibility is limited to personnel currently assigned to the 148th Fighter Wing who are serving permanent Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) tours. Members must remain in the position to which initially assigned for a minimum of 24 months. Waivers may be approved in exceptional circumstances by TAG.

REMARKS: PCS Funding is Available. This position is also bid as Indefinite Technician ANG 13-056. Higher grades may apply; however, may have to take a reduction in rank.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This technician position is located in the Repair and Reclamation Shop, Aerospace Systems Section of the Field Maintenance Branch (Organizational Branch ADC only) in the Aircraft Maintenance Functional area. This position accomplishes on and off equipment maintenance on aircraft systems and components such as wheel and tire, flight control, canopies, landing gear, and performs general heavy airframe maintenance, bevond the capability of other maintenance activities. Provides capability for the recovery and reclamation of equipment of damaged or crashed aircraft. Performs all phases of the repair and reclamation process for crashed or damaged aircraft utilizing lifting bags, cranes, hoists, slings, forklifts, and other heavy equipment. Serves on the flight control team and may coordinate team functions. Participates in flight crew debriefing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components as required. Advises on and participates in the removal, rigging, and replacement of flight control surfaces, portable huffet and lavatory units. Accomplishes organizational and intermediate level maintenance, which involves major repairs, TCTO's, and/or flight controls, landing gears, doors and canopies and associated equipment requiring structural or component maintenance beyond the capabilities of other activities. Performs intermediate level maintenance on aircraft wheel and tires and may also accomplish organizational maintenance such as wheel and tire and brake changes. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, II: and LIE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.
