A regular meeting of the Alcorn Board of Education was held in the board room of the Alcorn School District Administrative Office located at 31 CR 401 in Corinth, MS.

Mary K. Coleman, President, called the meeting to order. The meeting began as an open meeting.

The invocation and Pledge of Allegiance was led by Board Member, Carroll Morton.

On motion duly made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the agenda was adopted with the following change:

ACMS technology students sell tumblers. ACMS football/Modern Woodmen matching donation on Bear Banner fundraiser. ACHS girls’/boys’ basketball host Little League basketball. ACHS football boosters host 50/50 drawing at each football game. ACHS cross country team collect donations to the program and runners will run a 50 mile plus practice. KES library host Scholastic Book Fair. KES sell items from a catalog. District AG/FFA programs sell nutrient approved meat sticks. KHS slow-pitch sell fish and chicken plates. On motion duly made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the board approved the addendum to outline the process to be used during the August/September 2015 Ms. Kindergarten Readiness Assessment.

There was discussion regarding the custodial pay scale and Board Member, Randy Wilbanks ask that Business Manager, Kimberly Woodard look at the scale due to the pay topping out after 13 years.

Cliff Little, BHS girls’/boys’ basketball coach voiced his concerns to the board regarding an additional athletic period needed so that boys and girls didn’t have to practice together and practice would be done during school hours due to having only one gym. The board stated and board attorney reiterated that this was an administrative call not a board issue.

On motion duly made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the board voted to adjourn until regular meeting on September 14, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at the Alcorn School District Administrative Office.
