Estherville Lincoln Central School Foundation Mark and Colette Heywood Scholarship Application

Mark and Colette Heywood, majority owners of the Motor Inn Auto Group, have endowed a scholarship for ELC graduates to attend the University of Iowa, Iowa State University or the University of Northern Iowa. These scholarships are also available to ELC graduates who wish to further their education after completing their studies at Iowa Lakes Community College. Mark and Colette stated, “Estherville is blessed to have an affordable, quality institution in Iowa Lakes Community College right in our backyard. However, for those students that wish to further their education at a state university, the expense to students and parents has become overwhelming. We hope by offering these scholarships that more ELC graduates who desire to attend these state colleges will be able to do so.”

Albert and Alice Heywood founded Motor Inn Auto Group in 1937. Bob and Mardel Heywood took over and expanded the business in 1963 upon Albert’s passing. In 1997, Mark and Colette took over upon the passing of his father. Motor Inn Auto Group operates automobile dealerships in Estherville, Spirit Lake, LeMars, Algona, Spencer and Webster City.
