PACKING FOR CAMP COLMAN

DO NOT PACK IN YOUR LUGGAGE: Bring your raincoat and wear a sweatshirt on Wednesday. (You may not have access to your packed gear before starting camp activities.) What to pack:

 Students must wear long pants.  Students should dress warmly in layers. If it is nice weather – layers can be taken off. It is better to take layers off than be too cold and not have enough warm clothing. A waterproof coat is a must!!  Many students bring hats, gloves, and hand warmers to use in the evenings or if it is cold during the day. (Example: wear a T-Shirt, sweatshirt and a coat and take off layers depending on the weather.)  Remember to have a rain poncho or raincoat with a hood. We will continue to do activities at camp whether it is raining or not.  Students should have two pairs of tennis shoes or boots at camp, in case, one pair gets wet.  Bring extra socks to change into when you change shoes.

How to pack:

 All camp gear must be ready and dropped off on Tuesday. (If parent is a camp chaperone and is driving to camp, they may take your luggage.) When your child comes to school, he or she must bring all his or her belongings for camp. (Note: camp gear cannot be taken on the school bus.) Remember when we get to camp, they must carry what they bring to their cabin.  Put sleeping back and pillow into one sturdy garbage bag. (This will keep it dry during the transportation process.) Label the garbage bag with your child’s first and last name and cabin name on masking tape or duct tape.  Put duffel bag or luggage into a separate garbage bag. Label the garbage bag with your child’s first and last name and cabin name on masking tape or duct tape.  You should send two extra bags for your child to use to put the sleeping bag and pillow / luggage in for the way home. Pre-label the extra garbage bags with your child’s name and teacher’s name. (This will make it much easier to locate and identify after camp.)
