2016-2017 TIMELINE AND INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLS PRESENTATION OF THE 8 TH GRADE PVRHSD PLACEMENT PROCESS

November 1, 2016 – 9:00AM - Hillsdale- Middle School presentation to 8th graders by PVRHSD Supervisors November 2, 2016 – 8:15AM – River Vale - Middle School presentation to 8th graders by PVRHSD Supervisors November 3, 2016 – 9:00AM - Montvale - Middle School presentation to 8th graders by PVRHSD Supervisors November 4, 2016 – 9:00AM - Woodcliff - Middle School presentation to 8th graders by PVRHSD Supervisors **All 8th grade student evaluation rubrics for English and Social Studies are on-line. Please see links below. Rubrics must be completed for each student and are due the day before the actual test date at each school. October 21, 2016 – Middle schools will email parents of 8th graders with explanation of process. Forms will be available on the Pascack Valley Regional High School District website (www.pascack.k12.nj.us). December, 2016 – Reading and writing tests administered to 8th graders by high school personnel, as follows:

 English and Social Studies Self-Nomination Form for students

 Teachers complete individual student rubrics.

January 11, 2017 – High school reading/writing task will be administered to out-of-district students at Pascack Valley High School, Lecture Hall, Room 201, at 3:30P.M. February 10, 2017 – Discussion and reconfirmation of honors placement with 8th grade teachers. Time(s) and location(s) to be determined at a later date. **NOTE: 8TH GRADE ORIENTATION PROGRAMS WILL BE HELD AT THE HIGH SCHOOLS, AS FOLLOWS:
