AUCTIONEER PAUL GENTRY HOME 01522 789152 MOBILE 0780 1032846 461 SLAUGTHER CATTLE SOLD YOUNG BULLS TO 208.5p OTMS TO 176.5p STEERS TO 215.5p HEIFERS TO 248.5p OVERALL AVERAGE LEVELLED AT 170.68p

Young Bulls - 222 averaged 162.92p A massive entry of young bulls on offer today as the Spring 2013 born crop really gets underway.

The top end quality was excellent although some smart bred bulls were being sold well before time as producers are very conscious of the 16 month ruling at many Abattoirs and not getting them too big!!

Trade today was exceptionally sticky with many buyers full from sales earlier in the week and slow sales of meat.

Trade today was back on the week by anything up to 15p per kilo.

The Friesians were less affected and many over 16 month bulls still fairing much better than they would deadweight as they would be paid as cow price!!

Top bulls today were consigned by Rachel and Doug Gascoine and Jeff Comer, Swindon who both sold Limousins to 208.5p - £1276.02 and £1132.16 respectively. The Gascoines also sold others at 205.5p - £1159.02 and 202.5p - £1103.63. Robert Holmes sold Limousins to 207.5p - £1288.58. David Duffin sold Limousins to 207.5p - £1093.53. John and Richard Warner sold Limousins to 205.5p - £1103.54 and 205.5p - £1096.67.

Top grossing bull today was sold by Stuart Harness who sold Limousins to £1544.22.

Today E grades 200p plus with U+’s 190-199p, -U grades 186-189p and R grades 180-185p, R grades sold from 172-180p and O+’s 158-168p.
