SUBJECT: Admissions Policy – Online Business Programs

 Business Administration (B.A.) -- online  Organization Leadership (B.A.) – online  Dual major in Business Administration & Organizational Leadership (B.A.) -- online

PURPOSE: To develop an admissions policy for Graceland’s online business programs that maintains high admissions standards for the program, while also considering the unique circumstances, qualifications and attributes of non-traditional student applicants.

POLICY: Graceland University does not discriminate against any student or prospective student on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation. Graceland does reserve the right to deny admission to a student who is deemed unable to adjust successfully to the Graceland environment.

High School Graduates In order to be considered for acceptance to Graceland’s online business programs, an applicant must submit an application form, be a high school graduate or have a GED high school equivalency certificate/diploma, and qualify in two of the following three criteria: 1. Rank in upper 50% of the class. 2. Have a grade point average of 2.50 or above based on a 4.00 system. 3. Have either a minimum composite ACT score of 21 or a minimum combined SAT I score of 960.

** Applicants who do not meet the above criteria can submit a letter, along with their application materials, describing how they can be successful at Graceland University. Please share relevant career experience and other qualifications that will enable future success as a Graceland student.

Transfer Students

A student seeking admission to Graceland after enrollment at another college must submit to Admissions an application form, a high school transcript, and transcripts from all colleges previously attended. Transcripts must be mailed directly from the school and have the official school seal affixed, or transmitted electronically through any certified vendor. Withholding information concerning previous schools attended could result in termination of enrollment.

-1- Acceptance is based on college/university work rather than high school if a student has attended college/university full time and has accumulated at least 24 semester hours of college-level credit (excluding college preparatory courses). Students with less than 24 hours will be required to meet freshmen requirements and submit official transcripts documenting all college coursework attempted, an official high school transcript, which includes class rank (if available), and ACT/SAT scores.

A minimum 2.00 cumulative grade point average on all transfer credit is required for admission to Graceland University.

PROCEDURE: 1. The CGCS admissions team will collect all application materials related to the prospective online business student. 2. The Assistant Registrar at the Independence Campus will review the application materials and send the applicant an acceptance letter if the applicant meets the requirements for admission (see above). 3. If the applicant does not meet the defined requirements for admission, a letter from the prospective student can be obtained to provide additional information regarding the individual’s unique circumstances. a. Upon receipt of any letter from the prospective student, an admissions review committee with convene to determine whether the applicant can be accepted into the program. b. The admissions review committee will consist of the following: i. VP Enrollment Management ii. Dean, School of Business iii. Director, CGCS iv. Assistant Registrar, Independence
