1. Call To Order: President Joan Bartz called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. 2. Approval of the Agenda and Meeting Minutes: motion was made to approve the agenda and August minutes by Shawn DeWitt, second by Terri Swanepoel, motion carried. 3. Treasurer’s Report: Terri presented her report and has the GC Chamber and Rustic Lore split. She also did some digging and found out that the Glen Hills Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. has been a non-stock corp since 2006. She is going to see what it would take to change the name to the Glenwood City Area Chamber of Commerce. Motion was made to approve the Treasurer’s Report by Shawn DeWitt, second by Kristen Curvello, motion carried. 4. Reoccurring Business/Updates: a. Economic Update: the Marketing and Business Development & Attraction committees met today prior to the Executive Board meeting. BD&A discussed what buildings were currently vacant, talked about new business incentives, and what funds/loans/grants can be explored for new business. Marketing discussed creating a Welcome booklet, a brochure, and a map guide with businesses – also addressed how would we pay for the printing and design, get sponsorship from included businesses, and how to answer the question of “Why be a Chamber member”? b. Membership: a few more members have been added – the GC School District and Statahl. c. Rustic Lore: the weekend went well. Kristen reported that the tent events were in better attendance this year than the prior year. We had three banners up from sponsorships – hopefully can double for next year. Is there anything the Chamber can do as a fundraising event at Rustic Lore? d. Mission Statement: we revised the statement - “to promote and strengthen all member businesses so that our communities can prosper and grow.” e. Lunch & Learn/Business After 5: the next L&L is Thursday, November 3rd. Joan will possibly present Investment/Retirement planning if we cannot have Tax Tips. The next Business After 5 is Wednesday, October 12th at Leakers. f. Historical Mural Restoration – on going agenda item until completed: she is finishing up – is looking for a distributer that carries the sealer she needs in 5 gallon buckets, can only find quarts right now. Joan got a rough estimate on the bronze plaque from Dallas Maes for $350-450 for a 12x16” with 40 names. She is going to check with Hiawatha to see if they can sponsor this cost. 5. New Business: N/A 6. Adjournment: Joan Bartz moved to adjourn the meeting at 1:34 p.m. by unanimous consent.

Respectfully Submitted by Kristen Curvello, Recording Secretary
