Duty Location: Rapid City, SD Unit Designation: JFHQ-SD Military Grade: SSG/E-6 Duty Position: Standardization NCO Duty MOS: 15T3F Para/Line: 260-29
General Eligibility Requirements: All E6 and E5 Soldiers selected for an E6 position (EPS select) within the SDARNG. If you are an EPS select, submit your EPS select letter with your packet. Those not 15T qualified will have 1 year to obtain a reservation in a 15T MOS producing school, reclassification requirements are listed below. Soldier must have a current passing APFT score for record and meet height and weight standards for consideration. a. Major duties. Supervises aircraft maintenance and technical inspection activities. Determines man hours, personnel, parts and facility requirements to repair aircraft and associated equipment. Plans aircraft maintenance areas, component repair, shops and facilities. Instructs subordinates in aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards, and operational policies. Maintains supply economy and discipline. Supervises the technical training program. Prepares evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance repair and related activities. Recommends and administers plans and policies. b. Physical demands rating and qualifications for initial award or reclassification of MOS. (1) UH-60 helicopter repairers must possess the following qualifications: (a) A physical demands rating of heavy. (b) A physical profile of 222211. (c) Normal color vision. (d) Qualifying scores. (2) A minimum score of 105 in aptitude area MM in Armed Services Vocational aptitude Battery (ASVAB) tests administered prior to 2 January 2002. (3) A minimum score of 102 in aptitude area MM on ASVAB tests administered on and after 2 January 2002 and prior to 1 July 2004. (4) A minimum score of 104 in aptitude area MM on ASVAB tests administered on and after 1 July 2004. c. Reclassification: Must meet the above qualifications and all prerequisites IAW AR 614-200 Chapter 3-19 and AR 40-501 Chapter 3. Must be in the grade of SPC (non-promotable) or below unless they have held an aviation maintenance/component repairer CMF 15 MOS for a minimum of 12 months at skill level 1 or 2, 18 months at skill level 3 or 24 months at skill level 4. (1) National Guard: Soldiers that do not meet the above qualifications must submit a determination packet through National Guard Bureau, ATTN: NGB-ARNG-AV, 111 South George Mason Drive, Arlington, VA 22204- 1382, (http://www.rucker.army.mil/usaace/directorates/cdid/opfd/iw_enlisted.html). (2) MOS closed for reclassification to Soldiers who have been deemed permanently non-deployable in accordance with AR 614-30, AR 40-501, AR 220-1 and AR 600-8-101. Soldiers must meet the minimum criteria for retainability stated in AR 600-60, paragraph 4-2(b) and be fully deployable to all locations and echelons. d. Additional Duties. Manages UH60 helicopter maintenance in order to meet mission requirements. Coordinates with other maintenance personnel to ensure aircraft are ready for upcoming missions and aviation training. Assist FI’s/SI’s of other aviation units. Conducts mission tasks and general crew duties such as loading and re-configuring of A/C, passenger safety briefs, inspection of external loads for rotary wing A/C and internal “loads for fixed wing aircraft. Support other aviation assets with maintenance, coordination, safety, and general aviation tasks. Able to function as a Flight Instructor or Standardization Instructor in training and evaluating NRCMs. Maintains all standards for UH60 Crew-chief, (i.e. meet all APART requirements; maintain proficiency in all tasks outlined in the Commander’s task list; maintain A/C currency). Be RL1: Day/Night/NVG Be: FI or SI Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections. Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. Has working knowledge of ULLS-A and helicopter computer logbook. Able to provide technical guidance to subordinate personnel. Performs operational checks and scheduled inspections. Able to diagnoses and troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft subsystems. Assist in crew-chief/FI duties.
