Town of Kingston Recreation Commission Meeting Monday Oct. 3, 2016 7:30 PM Reed Community Building 33 A Summer Street Kingston, MA 02364

The Recreation Commission held its regular scheduled meeting on Monday August 1, 2016, at the Reed Community Building, 33A Summer St., and Kingston, MA 02364.

Members Present: Noelle Ballinger and Brian Whidden, Kathy LaNatra Not Present: Andy Davis, Melissa Bateman Also Present: Susan Woodworth, Debbie Doherty Public Attendance: Samantha & Grace Faherty, Jack LaNatra, Lydia LaNatra

Vice Chairperson, Noelle Ballinger called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM

Motion Motion made by Brian Whidden, second by Noelle Ballinger to approve meeting minutes from September 2016.

Discussion None Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

Open Forum The group Caring Bite, attended meeting to ask Commission if they could hold a bake sale fundraiser at the Reed Building, to help others with different types of diseases.

Motion Motion made by Kathy LaNatra, second by Brian Whidden, to allow Caring Bite, to hold a bake sale fundraiser , at the Reed Building, waiving the fee and based on the availability of building.

Discussion Commission asks questions regarding baked goods and advertisement. Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

Susan updated Commission on turf management, and irrigation. The as built, that were designed for the complex are not correct.

Susan stated the press booth is being worked on; rules and regulations sign, and basketball rules sign will be installed in the next week or so.

Susan reminded the commission of the Fred Bailey playground dedication, to be held on Saturday Oct. 15, at 1:00pm.

Susan asks commissioners about the CPC/Capital Planning, requests.

Motion Motion made by Brian Whidden, second by Kathy LaNatra, to move forward to request Bailey playground fencing in FY18.

Discussion None Motion passed by unanimous voice vote. Motion Motion made by Kathy LaNatra, second by Brian Whidden, to move forward with basketball court fence, thru CPC for FY18.

Discussion None Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

Motion Motion made by Brian Whidden, second by Kathy LaNatra, to re build Govoni field thru Capital planning for FY18.

Discussion None Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

Susan discussed the minimum wage issue and will present to the wage and personnel board.

Motion Motion made by Kathy LaNatra, second by Brian Whidden, to have Susan present to Wage and Personnel board to add , the step wage plan for our seasonal staff and to request the wage compression.

Discussion None Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

Motion Motion made by Brian Whidden, second by Kathy LaNatra, to request from the town annually, $25,000.00 as part of our operating budget.

Discussion None Motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
