MADELINE PRATT

Madeline has studied Classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Pas Des Deux, Funk, National/Character and Pilates for the past 13 years at Ringwood Ballet Group (RBG). She is a qualified Southern Federation of Dance (SFD) Teacher and has 4 years of teaching experience assisting in classes as well as being a competition teacher at RBG. Madeline has completed all RAD Classical Examinations Grade 1-8 as well as Intermediate Foundation to Advanced Two and has achieved distinctions at all levels. She has also completed the Southern Federation of Dance Jazz levels 2-10 and Tap levels 5-10. She was recently awarded the Southern Federation of Dance Outstanding Achievement Award for 2013-2014.

Madeline has competed in many dance competitions over the years and has received a number of awards including age and overall aggregates and Jazz and Classical Championships at the Victorian Performing Arts Challenge, the Senior Classical Championship at Goodwill Dance Festival as well as the age aggregate and Jazz Championship at the Highpoint Dance Festival. She has also been awarded Jazz and Classical scholarships at the Southern Federation of Dance Competition.

Between 2010 and 2014 Madeline’s performing credits at RBG include Helena in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, Swanhilda in Coppelia , Ugly Step Sister and Drunken Rat in Cinderella and Divertimento Solo. Madeline has received the Dr Joy Gales Award for Excellence in Music and Dramatic Performance for the role of Swanhilda in Ringwood Ballet Groups ‘Coppelia’ 2012.

During her time at Luther College Madeline was the Dux of VCE Dance and was selected to perform at the Melbourne Recital Centre for Top Class in 2014. She was highly involved in their Performing Arts department and choreographed many performances for students such as VCE Dance Unit 1+3 Group Dance Outcome. She has also undertaken Piano and Voice lessons as well as performing in musicals such as ‘Sheerluck Holmes’ and ‘Oliver’ which she was the Dance Captain.

Madeline is commencing her first year of the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Musical Theatre) at Federation University in 2015 and is excited to be joining the teaching team at The Academy of Classical Ballet.
