Wealth and Investment Management (WIM): Wealth and Investment Management is one of the company’s four main divisions. WIM businesses build enduring client relationships through sound, thoughtful and objective advice. Services include comprehensive planning and advice, investment management, brokerage, private banking, estate planning strategies, trust, insurance and both individual and institutional retirement. Wealth Management (WM): Wealth Management is a member of the WIM division and a leading provider of financial services to high-net worth clients through Wells Fargo Private Bank, and to the affluent segment through partnerships between Wealth Brokerage Services and the Community Bank. In Wealth Management, clients are provided with a complete range of solutions to help them manage, preserve and transfer their wealth. Social Impact Investing (SII): Wealth Management’s Social Impact Investing team, formerly known as Nelson Capital, provides investment solutions, including socially responsible investment strategies, for institutions and individuals. SII offers clients the flexibility, independent thinking and personalized service of a small firm with access to the banking, trust and philanthropic services of a major private bank. The SII Analyst will assume significant responsibility. Primary functions include:

 Detailed research and evaluation of company and industry environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies, practices and performance  Finding and using primary and secondary data, populating internal databases, and writing ESG research reports  Research presentation to the fundamental SII research team  Collaboration with the fundamental research team to support portfolio management activities  Preferred locations are Foster City, CA or San Francisco, CA. Other major Wealth Management hubs, such as Charlotte, NC or Minneapolis, MN, will be considered.  Relocation assistance is not available for this opportunity.

 2+ years of investment research experience, investment management experience, or a combination of both; or an MBA Desired Qualifications

 Knowledge and understanding of report analysis: emphasis on accuracy and telling a story with supporting details

 Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

 Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization

 Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

 Ability to research, analyze, document, and present organizational metrics that drive business decisions

 Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment

 Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

 Intermediate Microsoft Office skills Other Desired Qualifications

 Knowledge, understanding or strong interest in sustainability and how companies manage environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues  ESG research industry experience  Experience in the financial services industry with exposure to ESG analysis  Experience with researching and analyzing organizations, ideally in environmental and social practices
