Unwin of Summerville on December 22, 2010; and 21 22 Whereas, born September 17, 1939, in Malone, New York, David 23 L. Unwin was a son of Wayne Morris Unwin and Velma Greene 24 Unwin; and 25 26 Whereas, he was a retired CW3 United States Army veteran of the 27 Vietnam conflict, as well as retired safety director at the Space and 28 Naval Warfare Systems Command in Charleston; and 29 30 Whereas, a man of faith, he was a member of St. Theresa the Little 31 Flower Catholic Church and also served as a board member of 32 Dorchester Seniors, Inc., and Independent Transportation Network 33 Charleston; and 34 35 Whereas, in addition, he was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of 36 Columbus Council 6629, Monsignor Richard C. Madden 37 Assembly; member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of 38 Elks; and life member of the Association of the United States 39 Army, American Legion Post 21, Disabled American Veterans, 40 American Military Retirees Association, Military Officers 41 Association of America, National Association of Active and 42 Retired Federal Employees, and Silver Haired Legislature; and
[3461] 2 1 2 Whereas, he leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Betty Unwin 3 of Summerville; two sons, Donald Wayne Unwin (Kathleen) of St. 4 Louis, Missouri, and Andrew David Unwin (Lisa) of Colorado 5 Springs, Colorado; six grandchildren; and a host of other family 6 members and friends. He will be greatly missed. Now, therefore, 7 8 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 9 10 That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, 11 by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing 12 of David L. Unwin of Summerville, and extend the deepest 13 sympathy to his family and many friends. 14 15 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to 16 Mrs. Betty Unwin for the family. 17 XX 18
