LOCATION: The Lake at Splash Montana located at 3001 Bancroft, is an 8-lane, 50-meter regulation outdoor l ong course pool equipped with non-turbulent lane lines. The pool is a state of the art 50 meter po ol by Astral Pools. The pool is 6 feet deep at the west end and 4 feet deep east end. We have access to the 25 yard 3 ½ feet deep, 3 lanes area for warm-up and cool down before the park opens at 11:00am, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There also is a partial lane next to lane 8 for warm-up and cool down during the swim meet. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). Montana Masters Swimming had it certified and we are in the process of completing the certification.

Directions: From I-90, take Exit 104, Orange Street. Turn south onto Orange Street, drive approximately 1.4 miles, turn left on Beckwith (at the light), drive .2 miles and turn right on Brooks (at the light), drive .4 miles then turn left on Bancroft. The pool will be on the right hand side. Bancroft street will be the 1st right hand turn after the light at Mount and Brooks. When you are on Bancroft you will go through a four way stop and pass Sentinel High School on your right hand side. OVERNIGHT PARKING OR CAMPING IS NOT PERMITTED IN THIS PARK! HOTEL INFO: At the end of this announcement is a list of our sponsoring TBID hotels. There will be meet surveys available in the swim shop and in the meet program. All filled out surveys turned in by the deadline will be eligible for a cash drawing. There will be two drawings on Sunday at noon. For the surveys that are staying at the sponsoring TBID hotels there will be 4 drawings at random and awarding four $100.00 cash prizes. Out of all the surveys, TBID and non TBID hotels surveys, there will be 2 drawn for $50.00 cash prize each. We use this information to improve our swim meets so would appreciate your participation.

RULES: The meet is sanctioned by Montana Swimming and USA Swimming. The rules of USA Swimming and Montana Swimming will govern the conduct of the meet. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. The facility is equipped with adequate changing facilities and changing in or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms is not appropriate and is prohibited. There will be no on- deck registration. Glass containers, tobacco products, or alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the swimming venue. Seeding will be Long Course Meters (LCM), Short Course Yards (SCY), Short Course Meters (SCM). Swimmers are responsible for being familiar with this meet’s

scratch rules and check-‐in procedures. At a sanctioned competitive event, USA Swimming

athlete members must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-ups, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee may assist the swimmer in making arrangements for such supervision, but it is the swimmer’s responsibility to make such arrangements prior to the start of the meet. Unaccompanied swimmers shall report to the Meet Director or Meet Referee for assignment.

SAFETY Montana Swimming safety guidelines and warm-up procedures will be in effect and REGULATIONS: strictly enforced. No stakes can be put in the ground within the fenced area in the pool. Umbrellas, tarps, and canopies for swimmers will not be allowed on the pool deck, but will be allowed in the adjacent park during the meet. This meet will follow Montana Swimming’s and the City of Missoula’s lightning policies. There is no overnight camping in the park. Please bring a sun hat and sunscreen for your own protection.

WARM-UP Athlete entries into all lanes must be 3 point/feet first entry and circle swimming for a minimum of 20 minutes. For the last 20 minutes of the warm-up session, one-way sprints/starts will be open in 2 designated lanes. Additional one-way sprint lanes may be opened at the discretion of the meet referee. A pace lane can be opened at the discretion of the meet referee after the initial 20 minute circle swim period.

RACING STARTS: Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. All swimmers not accompanied by a coach must check in with the Meet Referee.

LIGHTNING POLICY: City of Missoula and Montana Swimming follows guidelines set forth by the facility standard or the American Red Cross whichever is more stringent will be the governing rule.

ELGIBILITY: This meet is open to all swimmers currently registered with USA Swimming as year round members with at least one “A” USAS Motivational Times time standard from Montana, Inland Empire, Snake River and /or Alaska swimming. Age of the swimmer on the first day of the meet determines the swimmer’s age group. No on deck registrations will be allowed.

Swimmers must have met the appropriate 2013 qualifying times in competition between February 1, 2012, and the entry deadline of June 30, 2013 at midnight. Penalties apply for unproven entry times. Each entry time must be from USA Swimming sanctioned, approved, or observed competition. Entry times not in the SWIMS database must be proven to the Administrative Referee or designated representative prior to the scratch deadline for the event (and in accordance with qualifying period noted above). Failure to provide such proof of time prior to that deadline will result in the swimmer being removed from the event. There is no need to prove relay entry times. It is the entering club’s, or individual’s, if entering as unattached, responsibility to verify that entry times are in SWIMS.

ENTRY FEES: Fee per swimmer: $18.00 Entry fees must accompany your entry form. Individual Events: $ 3.00 Make checks payable to M.A.C. Relay(s) $ 8.00 One check per team please! Time Trial: $ 5.00 Sunday night Pool party, Pizza and Ice Cream will be $10.00 per person. There will be no refunds.

SWIM PARK FEES: There will be swim park passes on sale for all the families. The cost is $3.00 per person per day. They will be available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The swim park is open at 11:00 am and closes at 6:00 pm each day. You will be able to purchase swim park passes at the meet.

Pool Party: The LSCs will be hosting a pool party Sunday night and will have the water park open to all swimmers, families and coaches. The party will run from approximately 6:30pm – 9:00pm, or after finals are finished Sunday night. We have rented the water park just for the swimmers, coaches and their families. The coaches will be admitted free of charge. We will have Costco Pizza, Big Dipper Ice Cream, Pop and water. We would like to have everyone purchase a ticket for $10.00 per person. We have to have a count by Saturday night at 5:00pm. There will be other food and drink items available for sale during the party. ENTRIES: Swimmers need to have one A time to swim in the meet. Swimmers with one or more A times can swim any 200, 100 and 50’s with any time. Each swimmer may participate in a maximum of three (3) individual events and one (1) relay per day, maximum of 6 individual events.

Online entries will be accepted until 11:59 PM PST Sunday June 30, 2013.

Before checking out (i.e., completing your online entry), double-check the meet entry fee data to be sure you have entered the correct number of swimmers and splashes. Be sure to enter (and pay for) all relay-only swimmers.

Once you complete your online entry you will be sent a confirmation email. Bring a l l written communications with you to the meet in case of problems with entries.

OME will not automatically update your entry times as new results are entered into SWIMS. Should you wish your entry to reflect any updated times, you must return to your entry after you have checked out to do so. You have until the entry deadline to update times in OME. You can also add events to your entry but you cannot delete events after you have checked out.

The special OME event numbers are for meet-entry purposes only. Event numbers in the Order of Events will be used during competition.

NOTES FOR RELAYS: Use the “over-ride” feature for 13-14 and 15-18 200 medley relay times, if necessary.

Please DO NOT submit paper entry to USA Swimming DEADLINE: Entries will open June 1st and close June 30th at midnight. Payment is due on July 5st before the meet starts. You can mail or bring a check for your fees and pool party.

MEET FORMAT: Events will be swum as listed on the schedule of events. Swimmers will be seeded based on their submitted times.

Swimmers in the 1500 Free must provide their own timers and counters. The 400 IM, 400 Free and 1500 Free will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating women and men. We reserve the right to have two (2) swimmers per lane in the 1500 meter free. We reserve the right to have chase starts for all our 100, 200, and 400 meter events.

Scratch policy for finals will be ½ hour after the results for each event is announced and posted.

SCHEDULE: We reserve the right to have warm-ups start on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as early as 6:00am based on the number of entries. Warm up times listed on the event sheet are target times only.

Warm-up times will be set according to the number of entries. A warm-up schedule will be posted on the Missoula Aquatic Club web page and the Montana Swimming web page the week of the swim meet. Following is a tentative listing for warm-ups times. We reserve the right to change these times and the warm-up schedule.

AWARDS: The team accumulating the highest number of points will receive the Quad/Tri LSC A Champs Pla que. Each LSC will also have a high point team for 1st place. We will also have a Quad/Tri LSC A Champs Boys and Girls Teams plaques for places 1st – 3rd. Individual awards will be presented by age group: 10&under, 11/12, 13/14 and 15 & up. For individual events, medals will be awarded for 1st – 8th places and ribbons for 9th – 16th places. Medals will be awarded for 1st – 5th places for relay events. High point trophies will be awarded for each age group and sex for 1st – 3rd places. Each team will designate a responsible adult to pick up the ribbons, medals and trophies at the co nclusion of the meet.

SCORING: Scoring will be by age groups 10 & under, 11/12, 13/14 and 15 &over. Individual: 20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Scoring for relays will be by event. Relays: 40-34-32-30-28-26-24-22-18-14-12-10-8-6-4-2

OFFICIALS: To the greatest extent possible, teams will be expected to provide timers. Timer sign up sh eets will be available at the meet at the announcers table. We also would appreciate the hel p of Certified Officials from other clubs.

SWIM PASSES: Missoula Aquatic Club will have on sale swim passes for kids and adults for Splash Water Park for $3.00 per person.

CONCESSIONS: Missoula Aquatic Club will have on sale a selection of nutritious snacks, meals, and drinks. Missoula Aquatic club and/or a vendor of their designation will provide apparel and aquati c supplies.
