Program Description
The primary goal of the Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta GEMS Program is to prepare young ladies for full participation as leaders in the 21st Century. Approximately 18-20 young ladies participate each year in varied activities including, but not limited to: self-esteem, etiquette, career workshops, college tours, a retreat, special outings to cultural events, and community service such as feeding the homeless and walk-a-thons. Their active participation is essential to planning and implementing such programs throughout the school year. GEMS participants will engage in a variety of public service and fun filled activities. These experiences and interactions will significantly help to increase their leadership, communication skills, and community awareness. Requirements Female, high school student in grades 9 – 12, with good academic standing
Live and/or attend school in Westchester County
Interest in pursuing a higher/secondary education
Ability to attend monthly events/meetings (usually held on Second Saturday of each month from 1PM-3PM)
*Two unexcused absences will result in a warning
*Three unexcused absences will result in dismissal from the program
Motivation and commitment to the program for entire academic year

1. You may make as many single-sided copies of the application as needed to distribute among peers. You may also forward this application electronically (preferred). 2. Applications MUST be received at [email protected] no later than 5:00PM on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015. Applications received after this date and time WILL NOT BE REVIEWED. 3. The “Application Supplement” must be completed by all applicants and attached to the application. 4. The Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta GEMS Committee of Westchester Alumnae Chapter will select approximately 18- 20 participants based upon demonstrated leadership and personal development ability as well as the above listed requirements. 5. Electronic letters notifying applicants of the selection results will be e-mailed no later than Friday, September 18th, 2015. Please ensure that all e-mail information is ACCURATE. 6. All accepted applicants and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will be required to attend a mandatory orientation session on Thursday, September 24th, 2015 at 6:30PM. The location is to be determined. 7.
