You are strongly encouraged to do all ODD numbered exercises in the textbook to succeed in the course. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HOMEWORK WILL NOT BE COLLECTED and HAS NO GRADE ATTACHED TO IT.

ATTENDANCE AND ACTIVE PARTICIPATION: The college-wide attendance policy is included in the Syllabus Addendum http://www.spcollege.edu/webcentral/policies.htm The policy notes that each instructor is to exercise professional judgment and define “active participation” in class (and therefore “attendance”), and publish that definition in each syllabus. The final course grade will be determined by the total points accumulated according to the following scale: FINAL AVERAGE FINAL POINTS FINAL GRADE 90-100% 450 - 500 A 80-89% 400 - 449 B 70-79% 350 - 399 C 60-69% 300 - 349 D* 0-59% less than 300 F* *You will need a grade of C or better for this course to fulfill one of your math requirements.

STUDENTS’ EXPECTATIONS AND INSTRUCTOR’S EXPECTATION: Students are expected to arrive on time and stay for the entire class. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to learn what was missed. Please refrain from using cell phones and texting during class as it is a disruption to the other students in the class.
