Michigan Athletic Trainers Society Athletic Training Student Committee Application

I. Job Description

The student committee member position requires an individual who possesses a great attitude, displays a desire to participate and contribute, and is willing to represent athletic training students from the state of Michigan in a positive manner. Applicants must be willing to encourage students to become involved in the athletic training profession at any level, be informed of issues in athletic training that may affect students and future professionals, and participate in all functions required of a committee member. Student committee members are primarily responsible for planning and implementing the MATS Annual Student Seminar, assisting in projects of the ATS Committee, and participate in executive council functions through MATS. Students not fulfilling these requirements may be dismissed from the ATS committee position.

II. Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicant must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Michigan College/University pursing a degree with the intention of becoming a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer. 2. Applicant must be a student accepted or progressing toward acceptance into one of Michigan’s 14 CAATE-accredited program. 3. Applicant must be a current student member of the Michigan Athletic Trainers Society. 4. It is the intent of the Michigan Athletic Trainers’ Society to have diverse members representing different schools in Michigan. However, all applicants will receive full consideration.

III. Application Instructions

1. Sections of the packet must be fully completed as directed. 2. A current resume, including two references, must be included in the application packet. (Word File) 3. Please title your application and resumé document with your first and last name. 4.
