Job Title: Maintenance Technician Department: Operations Section: Maintenance

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Job Purpose: Repairs, maintains, operates and carries out Quality checks on production machinery as required.

Key Result Areas: 1. Operate and maintain the filling and packaging machines. 2. Operate and maintain auxiliary equipment (ammonia & air compressor, chillers boilers etc.). 3. Carry out machine & package changeovers and fine tuning. 4. Troubleshoot and repair machines during production hours to minimize downtime. 5. Carry out preventive maintenance and correcting maintenance actions on production machines. 6. Assist in the blow moulding operation. 7. General maintenance of plant and building (a/c, lighting, plumbing etc.). 8. Carries out preventive maintenance work as outlined by supervisors. 9. Maintains up-to-date reports of work carried out. 10. Carries out routine checks on all production line machinery on startup. 11. Minimises down-time by attending to the breakdown of production machinery. 12. Repairs and replaces faulty parts and components. 13. Records usage of spare parts. 14. Coordinates with all relevant departments to ensure that production targets are continuously met through high machine efficiency and product quality. 15. Operates Plant machinery and carries out changeovers according to Production plan. 16. Carries out quality checks and SPC measurements as required by SPC software 17. Keeps working environment safe and clean by complying with Good Manufacturing Practices 18. Conduct duties as outlined in the Company’s Management System documents and contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 19. Ensures all relevant systems & programs are in compliance with ISO requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  Ability to work in a team  Ability to learn quickly new methods, machinery etc.  Awareness of ISO Standards and a management system to perform defect and incident free work  Knowledge of IMS policies and procedures relevant to the job description

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year experience in a manufacturing environment.

Education:

Diploma in an Engineering field or equivalent qualifications.
