1 A student on this diploma path must earn 24 course credits and 9 verified credits. Verified credits are earned by passing both the SOL course the And course’s respective end-of-course SOL assessment. These verified credits must come from the following content areas: 2 verified credits in English, 2 verified credits in math, 2 verified credits in history, and 2 verified credits in science. The remaining verified credit may be earned via student-selected test.
2 Students may take 3 years of one language or 2 years each of two different languages to satisfy this graduation requirement. 1 A student on this diploma path must earn 22 course credits and 6 verified credits. Verified Credits are earned by passing both the SOL course and the course’s respective end-of-course SOL assessment. These verified credits must come from the following content areas: two verified credits in English, one verified credit in Algebra I, one verified credit in history, and one verified credit in science. The remaining verified credit may be earned via a student-selected test.
2 Practical-level of English 9 and English 10 classes are offered in conjunction with a collaborative Reading/ Writing class (Language!). Any student currently enrolled in the Language! reading program as an 8th grader, or who is reading more than two grades below their grade level, will participate in this program.
3 This course must be taken concurrently with the Math Skills departmentalized elective if a student has not passed the Gr8 Math SOL.
4 Practical-level Health I and Health II will again be offered in a collaborative setting during the 08/09 school year.
5 Must complete at least 2 sequential elective courses from either Fine Arts (FA) or Career & Technical Education (CTE) departments.
6 Students who complete a CTE program sequence AND pass an examination/ occupational competency assessment/ credential or acquire a professional license in a CTE field may substitute the certification, credential or license for (1) the student-selected verified credit and (2) either a science or history verified credit when the certification, license, or credential confers more than one verified credit. 7 In addition to Math Skills, the following departmentalized electives are also available: Study Skills I, Study Skills II, Study Skills III and Work Study. NOTE: “Passing” for the online Gr8 Math SOL is a score of 344 or higher (this cut scores also applies to the online Plain English Gr8 Math SOL). Passing for the online Gr8 Reading is a score of 371 or higher.

4 Students may earn their 2 science credits by taking Earth Science in 9th grade and Biology in 10th grade, OR Biology in 10th grade and either Ecology or Biology II/Animal Studies in 11th grade.
5 Must complete at least 2 sequential elective courses from either Fine Arts (FA) or Career & Technical Education (CTE) departments. These sequential electives will provide a foundation for further training or preparation for employment.
6 The following SpEd department electives are also available: Study Skills I-III, Employment for Education (EFE) I, Employment for Education (EFE) II and Work Study, Legal Issues, and Health & Recreation I-II

1 Students on this diploma path must earn 18 credits and construct an alternative assessment portfolio (VAAP). 2 The Wilson Reading program will be infused into the Functional English course curriculums. 3 Electives are available to support the learning of students IEP diploma path and their transition plan. These classes assist students in improving and maintaining a foundation of basic skills and knowledge with a strong emphasis on vocational training, employment, and independent living skills. Examples of these electives include: Independent Living Electives: Life Management I & II, Life Skills, International Foods, Intro to Culinary Arts
Wellness& Recreation Electives: Health & Recreation I & II, Fitness/ Weights I & II, Chorus I-IV, Art I
