POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Designation : Sales Officer – Technical Vacancies : 02 Location : Kampala Company : Uganda Baati Country : Uganda Reports to : Sales Manager- Institutional & Projects

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION :

Reporting to the Sales Manager - Institutional & Projects, the Sales Officer - Technical will combine technical knowledge and sales skills for developing and maintaining sales strategies to meet agreed company objectives. Also as part of the work he will be designing or consulting on the installation of roof structures for homes or commercial buildings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options. 2. Sells UBL products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions. 3. Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs 4. Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education 5. Making estimates for consumer requirements.

6. Conduct regular follow ups with all debtors and make them pay their outstanding.

7. Weekly follow ups on seminars/ meetings.

8. Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.

9. Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs.

10.Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts.

11.Providing training and producing support material for the project team and customers

12.Report and proposal writing

Skills/Qualifications: a) Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering

Page 1 b) Experience in design & construction preferably in related industrial buildings with precast & long span roof trusses

c) At least 2-3 years’ experience in same role in roofings/steel, cement, paint and building/construction industry. Candidates with experience in FMCGs can also apply.

d) Using MS Office applications and computer-aided design (CAD) technology for simulation purposes

e) Excellent communication and organization skills is an absolute must have.
