Business Arising:

 Di & Sally’s farewell party- Farewell went well, GANEAA donated $100.00 to FOG

 Publicity person for Ganeaa - Helen Hill to co ordinate event advertising

 Art map for Jazz festival and grant - Jacqui has submitted an application to Council for grant to produce the Art Map, space may be allocated in Jazz program, regional papers booked in GANEAA’S name.

 Arts Group meeting in support of Gallery- Helen reported that support is growing and she has been advised to follow up her letter to council with a meeting with RCOW executives to highlight community concerns. GANEAA committee asked to respond and support “Our Say” on line RCOW forum to highlight support for Wangaratta Gallery and Library.

 Concert possibility James Anderson to be invited to next meeting to discuss possible concert.

Membership Update- no new members- currently about 60 members

Exhibitions

 September exhibition @ Bainz – ‘Selection/ Direction’  2017 Exhibition @ gallery 2- booked for follow up from the Across the Arts Forum from July 15th to August.

 Other agenda items:

 Pangerang exhibition : Linda Simpson discussed back ground behind the 1994 removal of the Pangerang people from the map of indigenous areas across Victoria. Further to this she discussed local Parks Victoria signs in the Warby Ranges telling of local areas being Yorta Yorta Land.

Linda is trying to raise public and local awareness for the Pangerang culture and heritage through online mediums.

Proposal put to committee for Exhibition at Bainz Gallery for April-May 2017 to help raised awareness locally. GANEAA to assist Freddy Dowling with funding for his new book. Kathy to contact him.

 Paint to Jazz: Janet Leith Janet will be invited to next month’s meeting to discuss ‘Paint to Jazz’.

 Artist contributions to a film screening at Swanpool Cinema on Sept 17th “Chasing Asylum”: Jacqui Coupe- This documentary shows the current and updated situation of Refugees in detention, GANEAA invited to contribute art work any medium, Linda has 2 songs and videos to be played. Email Jacqui by June 24th if interested in participating.

 Current ‘Love your Wetlands’ exhibition finishes in Swanpool on 26th. Last day 25th June as part of their Environmental Film Festival.

 $20.00- entry 1-9.30 pm includes afternoon tea and dinner. Bookings essential.

Luke,Kathy and Helen have volunteered to help take down remaining exhibition pieces, will start at 1.00 pm.

 ATA 2017 ideas Discussed theme for this event “Back to Wang”.  No confirmed replies as yet, discussed that David Godkin be asked to correspond with Mick Conway (Captain Matchbox) , confirm if he can attend; perform and conduct workshops over the event.

David Fraser, designer, textile artist (Helen). Kathy to look for list compiled.
