Human Resources Associate

Provident is one of the oldest and most respected non-profit agencies in the Greater St. Louis area. We serve adults in crisis and kids at risk. Our goal is to improve the functioning of individuals, families and the communities we serve through our counseling and support services, children’s after school programs and the Shreve Community Center.

Provident is seeking a Human Resources Associate to help us achieve our goal.

Core Responsibilities: 1. Ensure a smooth onboarding process for all new hires in the agency - from the point of Job Offer to their Employee Orientation. Specifically, this includes:  Managing all required forms and paperwork - including applications, offer letters, policies, tax forms, drug screens, background checks, I-9’s, etc.  Orienting new employees to the agency, including policies/procedures and applicable benefits  Data entry of all new hire records  Online benefit enrollment for all new hires 2. Manage the data entry for all events in the employee life cycle – promotions, transfers, salary changes, terminations, etc. 3. Interface with various areas of the agency, educating and training others on the onboarding process, and other HR processes and procedures as necessary. 4. Support and assist with recruitment efforts as needed. 5. Support and assist with various projects, including annual benefits enrollment, United Way campaign, etc. 6. Maintain current and accurate personnel files, benefit files and I-9 files. 7. Maintain current and accurate eligibility files with 401(k) trustee. 8. Provide administrative support as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:  Associate’s degree or equivalent experience (college degree preferred)  2-4 years experience in Human Resources.  1-2 years of data entry experience preferred.  Exceptional competency using Microsoft Office.  Exceptional attention to detail.  Excellent professional demeanor.  Excellent time management, organizational and independent judgment skills.  Proven ability to take responsibility and to problem solve in a proactive manner.  Demonstrated ability to create a welcoming atmosphere.  The ability to work collaboratively in a close-knit team.  A work ethic second to none, with a strong orientation to service excellence.  The capability and expectation to grow professionally.
