Dear Mr Muirhead

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002

I refer to your email request for information received on 29 June 2012. In that request you asked for figures for Fire and Rescue Services personnel injured or sustaining back problems whilst recovering and rolling up water delivery hoses after use.

I would advise you that we do not hold the information requested. That information may be available from individual Fire and Rescue Services and you may wish to contact the services direct to request the information. The contact details of each fire and rescue service in Scotland can be found by using the following link http://dontgivefireahome.org/contacts

If you are unhappy with this response to your request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review, by writing to Steven Torrie, Chief Inspector of Fire and Rescue Authorities and Head of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Advisory Unit, area 1W, St Andrew’s House, Edinburgh EH1 3DG. Your request should explain why you wish a review to be carried out, and should be made within 40 working days of receipt of this letter, and we will reply within 20 working days of receipt. If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to make a formal complaint to the Scottish Information Commissioner.

Yours sincerely

STEVEN TORRIE Chief Inspector of Fire and Rescue Authorities Head of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Advisory Unit
