We are looking forward to your arrival at the White Oak 4 Guest Tree House and thank you again for making The Mohicans part of your travel plans!

If your reservation is during the very cold winter months, please leave the electric heaters running in the tree house when you check-out. Thanks for your help!!

Do not use GPS to get to the White Oak 4 Guest Tree House. Use the directions provided separately. The Tree House drive is east off of Vess Road and is adjacent to the pond which can be seen from the road if you are coming from the North. The address sign of 23164 Vess Road is at the end of the drive and a “exit only” sign but ignore that as that is for wedding guests of the Grand Barn. There are also two enormous rocks stacked on top of each other at the end of the driveway and a green field gate. The tree house drive takes you straight up a hill with our pond on the left. Once at the top of the hill you will see our barn venue, The Grand Barn, on the right. You may park in the large gravel parking against the woods and you will see a sign that says “White Oak Parking” posted on a tree on the east side of the parking lot). The tree house is just over the back hill beyond the large parking lot so park against the back side of the parking lot along the woods and walk down the gravel path to the left of and behind the barn venue. You will see the walking path to the tree house on the back side of the hill. There is a stone wall which lines the walking path to the Tree House. If you have a Winter/Spring reservation, please read the information in your Rental Agreement regarding road conditions and suggested vehicles. The drive is steep coming into the property and it is imperative that you are aware.

Please enter the property from the rear door. The key pad is located on the back door. Just enter your code and turn the handle.

Please remember-ONLY VERIZON COVER THE CABINS AND SURROUNDING AREA-IF YOU DO NOT HAVE VERIZON, YOUR CELL PHONE WILL NOT WORK SO MAKE ALL OF YOUR CALLS BEFORE YOU ENTER THE MOHICAN AREA AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS WITH YOU AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE A CALL IF YOU ARE LOST.

A note about the septic and well system-the tree house water system has an iron filter due to the high iron content in our water. If the system has high usage (long showers, running lots of water), the filtering system may not be able to keep up and the water may turn slightly rusty. There is no harm, just more of an annoyance and some guests prefer bottled water. Please keep this in mind during your stay. Additionally, the system cycles during the night between the hours of 1am and 3am. Please do not run water/flush toilets during these hours as the iron laden water will infiltrate the clean lines. Thank you. Also, sometimes the toilet needs a little help getting a good flush so feel free to pour a large pot of water down it. We believe that this is because of our low water usage toilets coupled with a low grade to our septic. Hopefully this helps keep the toilet flushing well.

We have added a gas heater to the electric space heaters to use if the Tree House is not warm enough during the winter months. Just turn off one of the portable units if it gets too warm. It gets hot so do not touch the unit once it heats up.

If there are guests that need to sign the Waiver at check-in and it has not been returned to The Mohicans, please have them sign the Waiver once they arrive and deposit it in the green 22650 Vess Rd mailbox located just down the hill a couple driveways from the driveway to the White Oak. A staff member will pick it up from there.

Upon check-out, please wash and put away all dishes, lock doors and windows, take garbage to dumpster (dumpster in the corner of the Grand Barn parking lot), and report any damages to The Mohicans. Dispose of cigarette butts properly. Any cigarettes butts found on the property will result in a $50 charge.
