MULTI-YEAR FUNDING PROCESS

As a policy SDOP does not fund multi-year grants; in extraordinary circumstances, the Task Force will look into and decide the limited possibility of second and third year grants.

1.) Each Task Force will continue to receive completed application forms. Some applications may request multi-year funding. The Task Force will determine whether or not the proposal is a good one and what the multi-year funding might mean. Questions will be developed for a possible site visit.

2.) When a site visit is assigned, the visitor will discuss the details of the budget and multi- year funding with the group and the reasons for the need. The group will be encouraged to make appropriate decisions about the amount requested for each year and the need for multi-year funding.

3.) When the Task Force hears the site visit report, full discussion of budget and multi-year funding will take place. The Task Force will decide to support or deny multi-year funding.

4.) The Task Force recommends Validation and Funding for each multi-year project, but with budget for ONLY ONE YEAR. The Precis will be written and presented to National Committee. Following the budget will be a sentence: “This is a multi-year request”.

5.) The Louisville office, together with the Task Force, will maintain the application forms and précis in an active file. The Louisville office will send a Multiyear Application form for the second year of funding with the “third payment released” letter. (Attached application)

6.) The Project completes and returns the multiyear application form for second year funding. This form is sent to TASK FORCE for review.

7.) The Task Force may require a second site visit or other communication with the project. The Task Force may approve and recommend for continued funding. The Task Force writes a NEW précis with an opening sentence: “This is a multi-year funded project, Year II, III” and presents the precis to the National Committee.
