A CalPERS Counselor will be available by appointment at our location throughout the year:

If you have specific questions and would like to schedule an appointment please email [email protected] -- In your email state your name, the last four digits of your social security number, your birthdate, when you plan on retiring and the reason you would like an appointment. If you would like a retirement estimate, you must submit a Retirement Allowance Estimate Request Form available on the CalPERS website. Please note that appointments cannot be made through the Shasta County Office of Education; you must contact CalPERS directly via email.

What the CalPERS Counselor can do:

 Answer basic retirement-related questions  Receive and witness completed retirement applications  Accept CalPERS forms and supporting documents  Receive requests for retirement estimates to be mailed to your home  Register for a FREE retirement educational event or individual appointment

What YOU can do:

 Complete all forms to the best of your ability before you meet with a representative.  Be prepared to show identification (your spouse/domestic partner must also show identification)  Attend a retirement educational event  Be prepared to follow-up with another visit or register for an educational event

What the CalPERS Counselor CANNOT do:

 Provide detailed research on your account  Resolve complex account issues or discrepancies  Give immediate estimate results
