MINI JUMPING 2 Phase* £8.00 Jumps 2’0”- 2’3” CLASS 2. MINI-JUMPING PAIRS 2 Phase* £14.00 per pair Jumps 2’0” – 2’3”. For two riders on two ponies/horses. Timed One after another with a whip hand-over. * 2 Phase – the competitor enters the ring, after the bell is rung proceed to jump the course. If the competitor goes clear, NO BELL WILL RING, and the competitor must continue on to complete the jump off section against the clock CLASS 3. MINI-MAJOR JUMPING £8.00 Jumps 2’6”-2’9” – with jump off for clear rounds Class 4a) 12 years and under on 1st January 2017 Class 4b) 13 years and over on 1st January 2017

8.30am-11.30am CLEAR ROUND JUMPING Jumps start at 2’0” cross pole and increase throughout the morning to match the classes in Ring 1. Entries on the day: £3 per round/£5 for 2 rounds. 11.30am- onwards CLASS 7 MINI-MINIMUS JUMPING – JUDGED ON STYLE £7.00 Jumps 1’0”- 1’6” Not timed. Class 7a) Lead Rein Class 7b) Unled CLASS 8 MINIMUS JUMPING 2 Phase* £8.00 Jumps 1’6”- 2’0”. Timed. For any combination of horse and rider not having been placed at time of completing entry form. 1st – 3rd in any jumping class at time of entry. CLASS 9 MINIMUS JUMPING 2 Phase* £8.00 Jumps 2’0” * 2 Phase – the competitor enters the ring, after the bell is rung proceed to jump the course. If the competitor goes clear, NO BELL WILL RING, and the competitor must continue on to complete the jump off section against the clock CLASS 10 HORSE & HOUND £8.00 Competitors will jump one round on their pony and then one round leading their dog over jumps approx. 1’. Fastest time wins. No choke chains.
RING 2 LATE ENTRIES £12 RING 3 For all Pony Club Pony classes, including Lead Rein and First Ridden, the judge will be looking for a happy, smart and versatile partnership with a well-mannered, safe and obedient pony. Snaffle bridles will be preferred. 9.30am CLASS 11 LEAD REIN PONY CLUB PONY Riders 8 years and under on 1st January 2017 £8.00 Snaffle bits only. Genuine lead rein riders with lead attached to noseband only may enter lead rein classes. CLASS 12 FIRST RIDDEN PONY CLUB PONY. Riders 9 years and under on 1st January 2017 £8.00 This is for riders off the lead rein. Riders will be asked to perform an individual show. Ponies may canter in the individual show. Riders in this class many not enter class 11 CLASS 13 PONY CLUB PONY/HORSE. Riders 10 years and over on 1st January 2017 £8.00 The pony is judged on obedience to the rider’s aids and willingness to safely perform the tasks normally asked of a versatile Pony Club pony. It will include a small jump, rider to dismount and mount and lead at trot. The Pony Club Pony Championship will follow for 1st and 2nd in each class. Championship Shield kindly donated by NFU Pulborough Not before 12 noon. CLASS 14 Veteran £6.00 This class is for any horse/pony’s aged 15 or over. Children may ride or lead their horses/ponies CLASS 15 Young Handlers (In Hand). £6.00 Children that are under the age of 8 on the 1st January 2017 are eligible for this class. Children may be accompanied by an adult. You will be asked to run with your horse/pony.
RING 3 LATE ENTRIES £12
RING 4 9.00am CLASS 16 LARGE WORKING HUNTER over 13.2 hh Jumps 2’6” approximately. £8.00 This is a 2 phase class, with the first phase as jumping and the second phase showing and conformation. The judge will be looking for a good looking, strong stamp of horse/pony with plenty of bone and good manners that is suitable to carry a child out hunting. If you have hunted regularly during 2016/17 season, please wear a white armband.
CLASS 17 SMALL WORKING HUNTER 13.2hh and under Jumps 2’0” – 2’3” approximately. £8.00
CLASS 18 MOUNTAIN AND MOORLAND WORKING HUNTER Jumps 2’0” – 2’3” approximately. £8.00 This class is open to all horses and ponies which are a registered mountain and moorland breed. For example Connemara, New Forest, Shetland.
The Working Hunter Championship will follow for 1st and 2nd in each class. Championship Shield kindly donated by NFU Pulborough

CLASS 20 HANDSOMEST GELDING AND PRETTIEST MARE £6.00 Rosettes for handsomest gelding placed 1st – 4th and prettiest mare placed 1st – 4th. RING 4 LATE ENTRIES £12

CLASS 21 Walk and Trot Dressage 2013 £12.00 CLASS 22 Grassroots Dressage test 2016 £12.00 CLASS 23 Novice Dressage Test 2009 £12.00 Riders can enter more than one dressage test. Times will be on the PC website www.branchespcuk.org.cowdray from 27th April CHALLENGE TROPHIES For Cowdray Pony Club members only. Points for Show Jumping, Dressage and Showing are:- 1st = 8, 2nd = 7, 3rd = 6, 4th = 5, 5th = 4, 6th = 3, 7th = 2, 8th = 1 Points for all other Classes are:-. 1st = 4 2nd = 3 3rd = 2 4th = 1 Points are awarded to the combination of horse and rider competing throughout the day and they must achieve points in more than one discipline. Mounted games and Handy Pony are considered one discipline Cowdray Open Show Mini Cup for 8 years and under, led. The Gemma Rosebowl for 8 years and under, unled. Kindly donated by the Kent Family. Challenge Trophy Mini Cup for 12 years and under. Kindly donated by Viscountess Cowdray. District Commissioner’s Cup for 13 years and over.
RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. The Judges & Show Organiser’s decision in all matters will be FINAL. 2. Objections accompanied by a deposit of £10.00 must be made in writing to the secretary within 15 minutes of the incident. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is not sustained. 3. This event will be run under Pony Club Rules 2017. 4. Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis 5. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measurers to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards 6. Securely fastened hard hats must be worn at all times by everyone when mounted. Hats should be tagged and must conform to Pony Club Rules 2017. Members should bring non-tagged hats to the Secretary when collecting their number. 7. No jewellery to be worn whilst riding. 8. In the event of cancellation entry fees will be refunded less £4.00 on receipt of SAE within 14 days to cover expenses. 9. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel, and/or amend, any of the classes as they feel fit or alter advertised times or refuse entry without stating reason. 10. No entry fee will be refunded without a valid veterinary or doctors certificate. 11. Entries in all classes will be limited. 12. Telephone entries or entries without the appropriate fee will not be accepted. 13. No horse/pony under the age of 4 may compete in any class or be ridden on the show ground. 14. Any spurs that are worn should have been approved by DC and may be asked to show proof via membership card. 15. Do not muck out horse-boxes on site, and please take all litter home with you.
