Job Title: Major Giving Executive Job Location: UK Reports to: Head of New Market Development (Major Giving) Responsible for: N/A Job Holder: Vacant Department: International Fundraising Development
Job Purpose: To manage and develop a number of corporate and major donor supporter relationships in the US, supporting the US Major Giving Manager & Head of New Market Development (Major Giving)
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Relationships – To personally manage and develop relationships with a number of key US based corporate and major donor supporters, including all communications (50% of time). 2. Delivery - To achieve income and other targets within planned expenditure levels (20% of time). 3. Planning - To define, implement and monitor plans for each supporter (10% of time). 4. Advisory Board – To provide support to the US Advisory Board as required (10% of time). 5. Contribution - To actively and constructively contribute to the overall direction of Sightsavers (5% of time). 6. Markets – To remain abreast of external trends and competitor activity (5% of time).
The principle accountabilities are not meant to be an exhaustive list of tasks. The need for flexibility is required and the job holder is expected to carry out any other related duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
Jobholder Entry Requirements - the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours required
Knowledge (Education & Related Experience): University degree or equivalent (desirable). Significant charity or relevant marketing experience, ideally with some experience of working with US organisations. Significant experience of managing high value relationships, particularly with corporate partners. Proven success in generating new business.
